I foun this drama damn good: it really is bittersweet but the romance? it's so sparse you've got to squint at it. It's in the small gestures, the microexpressions and in the motivations, so you have to work for it to perceive it. This Drama was hard but that's what makes it's impact. the cqrqcter's evolution is surprising but makes sense and for that congrats to the whole team. the only set back is the dubbed voices were kinda too much or out of sync.

I don't think that scene was in the novel. It seems to me more like he figuratively pulled down his pants by going back to LQ for help after he threw him out of his appartment. It might also be the way LQ sees him when he is groveling for scraps. Also, it signified (for me) that he was ready and available for LQ whenever he wanted to get him back. But then again it's juste my view, in the novel that request drew him back into LQ's influence and he was made into his servant/ bed servant

In the novel, she does seem to have messy feelings for her half brother as she asks why couldn't they have different mothers too. But I like your interpretation and the drama crew left it to our imagination I guess; censorship might not be forgiving for this kind of relationship. The sister might not be kind or likeable but she at least is portrayed in a believable way for her particular situation.

I hate to admit but i wonder where is this foreshadowing? I have watched all and read the novel, but I still don't see the message can you help me understand?

According to the novel, he was just trying to make some cash in the beginning, trying his luck maybe. But after he gets trapped and betrayed for the third time by Luqing he grew fed up and just wanted him to hate him I guess, first so that he won't want to get him back and second so that he doesn't forget him. He seems to get this idea from the girl that ruined his brother's carrier in episode 09

He did that because Luqing and co were after Fanfan. He was afraid they would get to him. SZ didn't listen to Fanfan in the novel or he wasnt fast enough so he was trapped under their power. He just I guess acted as a true friend and was trying to protect him

I started watching it blind not thinking much because BL in chinese drama land was sure to be underwhelming, and now I've been hooked. I finished both the drama and novel and I'm going through withdrawal. Can anyone help?

Ha ! I am so happy to learn that there will be a sequel, I have read the novel and felt upon finishing the drama that it seemed unfinished. I was coming to complain as it seemed that a lot of plotholes were left untouched, like what happened with Prince Ning and Mr. 3rd anb between the later and his wife as well as with liu chang and the princess and off course the lovestory of the two ML. I was startled especially as I'd felt that the screewriters had done a good job remastering the story adapting it as a drama.
But Now, oh boy, I am so excited! I hope they release the second season soon, I am afraid it won't be as good or as well received as the viewers interest might decrease (remebering what happened with LYF); Does anyone know if they finished shooting and, or if they have passed review and censorship?

you're right, the emperor is a piece of his own, but that's what humanises him and brings him down to believable level. I mean who would stand with an outsider instead of his own wife and son? or at least who would be unwilling to give them a second and or third chance when they err? the message I believe is that he is human and therefore imperfect be he remains benevolent.
The writing of his character is meant to make us forgive him for his shortcomings but kudos if you don't, I personally find him too calculative (as he should be) and I feel disappointed that he unsared Song Mo again to help the Crown prince with the antidote...
I loed the empress, so much courage and strength, so vicious too. It was brilliantly played.

So happy, I can' wait for this drama to be released. This novel is on of my absolute favorites and I also love both leads. After wathing Blossom I think the drector has great potential. To sum it up I have great expectations for this one. Please make it well and make it fast!

yes it was def one of my favorite parts,I was so happy to see the pattern on her inner robe I wondered what it was from the first glance and Song Mo's reaction seemed so natural, both actors did a great job. That scene was most fun

yes I understand that what has happened recently is a grave matter but I still give up for now. I might focus more on the current political situation and watch it once it has finished airing . It will be more enjoyable.

Well this is very disappointing. I mean I learned after watching the first episode that there would be delays on the december 14 the and 21 st episodes but this is getting ridiculous. Are they doing it on purpose to hype it up? the show didnt need it since it was interesting but I don't think I can do this anymore, I guess this is one show I will give up on at least for now. I hope they resolve their issues.
