I don't remember the exact episode, but right after removing DPJ, he starts thinking about the same thing you…
haha so true... these days people are quick to lose temper over minor difference of opinions... It's nice to have a calm, respectful chat like this.. 😄😄 and sure I'd let you know how I feel, once I finish it...🤗
been scrolling through weibo and have found 3 "tentative" dates🍉14 June🍉20 June🍉30 June
14th for HS seems unlikely cause that new drama started just very recently and has like 32 episodes.. if their release pattern is similar to Zang Hai’s, it might finish around June 20th...
I don't remember the exact episode, but right after removing DPJ, he starts thinking about the same thing you…
That’s a really interesting insight and observation… I was confused by his reaction when Marquis asked him that question, but your interpretation seems fitting! I love learning different perspectives... that’s why I made this post. For now, I’m still holding onto my impression of him as a hypocrite, but I haven’t finished the drama yet… maybe that’ll change by the end. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me! 💖
Yes, I had exactly the same feeling. By mid way when you see the damage and the sacrifices fighting against eunuch…
I think we have a little bit of a misunderstanding here, and maybe we’re just on different pages… because first of all, yes... the Marquis is freaking evil, and that was established in like the very first episode. But you can’t completely blame the deaths of those soldiers only on him. Let’s not forget it was set in motion by Cao, who was manipulated into it by Zang Hai. Like I mentioned before... Zang Hai might not kill directly, but he’s still very much responsible for the chain of events. And I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record at this point because I’ve said this to others too, but let me repeat it one last time... I don’t really have an issue with violence itself. In fact, I think revenge dramas should have that.. The “I’ll set the whole world on fire for my revenge” type of character honestly fits perfectly in a story like this... But the thing is, the protagonist has to OWN that. Zang Hai, on the other hand, is kind of living in a delusion. He acts like he’s morally upright, constantly calling others corrupt and evil for not valuing human life.. yet he’s also indirectly causing chaos and casualties himself. So shouldn't act so self-righteous about it. cause he too is “willing to go to any lengths to get what you want" type, so the hypocrisy is what bothers me... Also I did sense a bit of passive-aggressiveness in your comment. Don’t be like that...Art is meant to be interpreted in many ways, and discussions like these are just friendly exchanges of thoughts, nothing more. No need to get upset over it... 😉🤗💛
After 29th, myself. Think about it like this. If those people were allowed to continue with whatever they had…
That’s such an interesting take on his character, and honestly, your observation feels accurate so far. Now I’m even more curious to see how his journey unfolds and how my own thoughts might shift when I revisit the earlier arcs later on...

Oh no no, I’m definitely not dropping this... I really do like it a lot so far! I just made this post to point out a flaw in his character and to see where others stand on the issue. I got to read so many interesting insights, and it was genuinely fun going through them. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the story unfold. Thanks for sharing your thoughts too!

Ohh yeah, I saw that episode too... he was sad for Zhixing. I just wish there had been a bit more reflection than that… but hey, at least he acknowledged something. And yeah, that really does seem to be the message: the cost of vengeance. Honestly, I don’t mind violence all that much... I actually like the “I’ll destroy anything that stands between me and my revenge” type of characters. But they should be bold enough to own that. Zang Hai, on the other hand, keeps calling others evil and corrupt, saying things like “people like you will go to any length to get what you want”- acting like he’s morally superior and not harming any innocents. But in reality, he’s doing the exact same thing. That double standard is what really bothers me. I still haven’t finished it, but I’m glad to hear he goes all the way for his revenge...that’s how it should be done, lol.
Did yanan shoot underwater all day? His lips are all pale from soaking too long and the water looks so cold😭…
yeah, he spent the whole day filming those underwater scenes… 😢 One of his fan pages mentioned he caught a cold afterward and is sick now 🤧 I’m not sure how true it is, but it still makes me kinda sad 🥺💔
If it weren’t for the winter chill, I’d say he looked absolutely stunning in that outfit and it would’ve…
Yeah, our poor baby boy really suffered in the cold 😭😭 This outfit feels kind of bittersweet now… He looked insanely gorgeous, but the price he paid for it was really high! 🤧 and yesss, he deserves to be wrapped in a nice fuzzy blanket and protected at all costs 😩 Let’s hope he gets to work under better conditions next time!
Ohhh my Cici… I feel the same, I don’t want this to end either, it’s been way too much fun 🥹💗 But don’t worry, there are still a few more posts to come… 💫

"whereby the likes of the ML and FL care very little for those that perish. Yes, we see bits of ML questioning why and what, but he still carries on. "
I agree… and tbh, that whole Marquis’ prison breakout fight was such a turn-off. Seeing all those troops and soldiers dying... and that poor second son having to kill his own father, like OMG, I really resented Zang Hai in that moment. And sure, he later felt bad about ruining the second son’s life, but like… what about everyone else who died? All those soldiers, guards, and innocent troops... just so he could get revenge on ONE guy!? It was so frustrating! I still haven't finished the show yet... but I'm curious about how the story unfolds further...

That’s very well explained, thanks! And yesss, exactly!! Honestly, I personally have no issues with violence... if they had just presented him as an “I’ll set the whole world on fire for my revenge” kind of guy, I wouldn’t question a thing. I’d just grab my popcorn and watch in silence. because I love morally grey multi dimensional characters... But the problem here is, he keeps calling others corrupt. Like when he captured the princess and said something along the lines of, “Your mother is the queen, of course people like her can go to any lengths to get what they want.” He’s constantly belittling others and acting all righteous saint like, when he’s not much better himself... he’s caused so many people to lose their lives. That hypocrisy and double standard is where I draw the line. Tho someone mentioned, he acknowledges his mistakes and changes later on. I haven’t finished it yet, so I don’t know much about that... but I’m glad to hear the writers actually acknowledge the character’s flaws at least...
