Considering how desperate I was to see Season 2 this last year, when I actually had the chance to complete it, the fervor had died down. This drama had great potential but it suffered from some of the changes from the novel and its pacing was really poorly done. The actors did the best they could especially Zhang Wan Yi in my opinion.

This took forever to finish which is unusual for me but I lost interest at more than halfway. Only picked it back up and finished it by watching at 2x speed with some skipping. It was okay for me though I do like the ending - that’s all we wanted in Scarlet Heart Ryeo, was that so hard?!

I’ve been putting off watching this for ages! Glad I finally watched it. Took some time to get into it but I really enjoyed it. Was slightly disappointed by the ending compared to Go Princess Go though. Production quality and comedy were superior! 8.5/10 for me

I skimmed the movie on YouTube - the subtitles weren’t the best but from what I can tell, they changed the storyline a bit, especially toward the end.

The same actor played Mo Yan in both drama and movie and I’m impressed that he looks exactly the same!
Also, it was brief but I also saw the actor for Dongfang make an appearance (sort of the same character but not quite because of the storyline change) but he’s not listed on the cast.

If I ever find it with better subtitles, I’ll watch it properly and form a better opinion but as of what I’ve seen - I’d give this a miss. The CGI is poor, and the quality of the costumes & hairstyles is terrible (I’ve seen better in those 10 minute web dramas), the acting is average and while I did like some of the changes they made, it didn’t make up for the rest of the film.

So I’m only just catching up but confirmed that Su Rong Qing has also been given a second chance? Just finished the wedding episode. I’m really enjoying the banter :)

I LOVED IT. I was torn between 9.5 and 10. If there was more romance, it would have probably gotten the full 10.

Was trying really hard to not start this drama yet but I have failed. It’s only one episode and I’m already hooked.

Honestly, I really enjoyed this drama, didn’t pay attention to the details and turned my brain off for a good time! It was rushed and the acting left some to be desired but overall, it was entertaining. LOVE Director Ye’s look too, reminded me a little of that webtoon My Dear Cold Blooded King. Although, what the heck was with that ending?! He’s just vibing with her corpse??
I still enjoyed it…just those last few seconds had me going WTF.

Man, I’m glad I saved this for a binge! So much fan service and love scenes to heal my residual trauma from Princess Agents. They knew what they were doing!

I binged this entire drama in one sitting. If that doesn’t convey how much I loved it, I don’t know what words could. It’s currently 5am, it was THAT good. I’ve never had a drama jerk me around so much at the ending. 9/10 for me, the final ending could have been better in my opinion.

I am definitely intrigued by episode 1. It is clear from the preview that Hyun Woo will rediscover his love for his wife through pretending to care for her but I can’t help but get the ick due to his beginning intentions. Maybe I’ll feel better about it as the episodes go by but I can’t imagine Hae In forgiving him easily when she finds out what he originally wanted to say before she told him her news. Kim Soo Hyun’s crying was surprisingly funny though. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the drama but I’ll see how episode 2 goes before I make that call…

I came here hoping for an update on the airing date but all I got was drama. 😭
Just give us the second season so we can all rest pls 😭😭😭

I get it, I do but the male lead did feel guilty about feeling attracted to her when she was younger and he never acted on it. Plus, she was technically 18 if I remember correctly. I absolutely agree, he shouldn’t have fallen for her, him being her teacher and in a position of authority. Maybe they shouldn’t have made it so he liked her when she was younger and only fell for her later but the thing is it does happen and I think the emphasis should be on the fact that he didn’t do anything while she was younger - he never encouraged her affection for him, never used his age or position of authority over her in any way. It happened. They didn’t do anything wrong if they had a crush on each other while she was 18 and he was 27. Everything only happened when she was 31 and he was 40.

I understand the confusion because I also didn’t get it. As the other comment says, men make millions of sperm per load so really all they would need to do to solve the issue is selective IVF - picking out the sperms with the XY genes instead of the XX. But maybe whatever caused the problem of too few male births in the first place prevents them from doing this? Or maybe the male foetus pregnancies are higher risk?

I really enjoyed it - it’s like the Hunger Games but the prize is a man instead of wealth. The quality of filming and graphics are top notch, just like in Squid Games.
I like the ending but don’t really understand the practicalities of disarming the societal structures. I feel like they definitely left the ending open because of a possible season 2 based on its reception - classic Netflix move.
To be honest though, as much as I liked it, I don’t think I’d want a season 2 because I don’t see how they’d keep the game show vibe going without the actual RSL game and I’m too attached to the couples to see them separated. I’d rather live with the idea of happily ever after :)
