I got a bit confused at the end regarding Nie Huaisang - he told Zewu Jun that Meng Yao was behind him which maee…
i also think in the end NHS reassured WWX and LWJ saying that he wont meddle with LWJ being "his excellency." They knew he set up MY for his demise but i think that is all he set out to do because MY was out of control.
I have just finished it as well and also confused why no one just killed Meng Yao on the spot
seriously, they let him preach and he almost wiggled his way out again if it wasnt for wei ning coming back and nie huaisang. i need to know what spell he had lan xichen because was not willing to let him go.
wei wuxian's only crime was that he was kind, charming and didnt take life too seriously. even tho he liked to play around he knew his studies and sword work.
everyone around him tried to tame him and he became the opposite of what they disliked about him. and they used him as a scapegoat.
the whole series he only had 5 people who stood by him: wen ning, wen qing, mianmian, yanli and lan zhan. everyone else was easily swayed. no one else gave him the benefit of the doubt. he had to prove his own innocence.
even meng yao recieved more grace than wei wuxian. why was zewu jun so whipped by meng yao? man confessed to murders and more yet was still hesitant.
wei wuxian was either the light of the room or the darkness, he could not win. moral of the story is dont turn off your light for anyone.
i also appreciate that the ending was not an "open" ending. leaving the viewers to wonder if they reunited in the end. by wei wuxian's smile you know it was lan zhan.
im speechless. i did not like it but i did not hate it either. i think the execution could have been different. if the creators goal was to purposely make us confused about what the show was about they achieved it very well. for me it had too much going on but i guess that's the part of growing up. understanding your feelings.
it's more of longing after the other than anything.
im so confused... i respect china and their laws, i do. i just think china has some of the best "bls" but tbh not seeing a relationship blossom into something more...then the cop out that we have to put the pieces together to make our own ending is sad.
read a comment saying that there was no chemistry. to each their own. for me, i think the chemistry was there. as far as censorship goes the creators and actors did their part to show that their bond was more than friendship.
also read that ZZH did not have any expression. i am not sure where that came from because he showed emotions especially when it came to lao wen. i think he did the character justice.
I recently started watching Word Of Honor and saw that ZZH was outcast over a photo(?). I also read that with all the back lash and businesses turning away from him he did not shrivel up and take it. He worked harder to put out his own work and tell his story. I do hope that he is forgiven soon so he can come back to television. He is a talent that should not be wasted.
also why is boss still in it?
