if this were an American drama our leads would be the standard "will they won't they" couple that gets together…
Do they get together in this one? Or is just going to be subtle romance and for us viewers to imagine the rest? I am planning on binge watching once it's finished, so would love to know what I am getting into.

I won't disagree with you. Just felt a little off when I picked up the series. I will try to keep my preferences aside and give it another shot. Maybe then I can walk past the haircut and watch this adorable series (I have seen a few fan edits and I really like the duo). Let's see!

I have read this book. It's dark and will leave audience with an inexplicable void. I don't read such stories but this was the first and probably last for the sake of my sanity. I heard these was a Japanese adaption of the novel but wasn't too popular. I highly doubt any Chinese production company would pick this story up. It would be too dark in comparison to all the cutesy shows. Well, if she really doing this, then I will try watching it even though it may not be good for my mental health. lol

1. I hoped they showed exactly what happened to LYY that he had to retire. Whatever justification of his past was given, felt rushed and didn't make sense. They could have showed his POV at least. 2. FL's sister. She was one odd character. I am glad her presence in the show is very minimal but she definitely made me annoyed. My issue is, they should have justified her actions. It made no sense. As if she was just someone who hates everyone and the world kinda character. Or someone who doesn't get along with her sister and hates the guts of ML. But why? I wished the show addressed this. Even a minute or two would have been fine. 3. MXD and Lin Lin deserved a good ending. Not that they had a terrible one. But they should have showed them as a couple or something. The only progress in these two former couple is they are talking and caring for each other. 4. Would have loved to see whom Jiang Yang married. Also the kid seemed older 3 years (and the drama time skip was 3 years). Made no sense. Unless he isn't his biological kid. 5. The only fight FL and ML have (when they cross paths visiting the grave ceremony), made no sense to me. Maybe it's the subs. I am not sure. The dialogue was too weak for their fight. His frustration and her concern was understable but their argument was too weak for them to call it a fight.
All these are the few points that I wished the drama addressed. But even then this show is 10/10 for me. I have watched way tooo many series since 2011, and this easily has made it to my top 5 without a doubt. ML and FL have such an awesome chemistry. The FL is truly pretty and ML is definitely sexy ;)

If you are expecting some unpredictable, larger than life or twists that can blow your mind, I am sorry, this may not be for you. But if you are looking for something beautiful, a love that develops over time, those little touches, glimpses of longing, awkwardness, FL that's shy when it comes to love but truly a star in element as an athelete, a ML that's so handsome and so madly in love with the FL - then this is for you. Every character is a green forest (with one or two exceptions but that won't ruin the story, or the plot or the couple). PRETTY DARN AWESOME show that I watched in a long time. Wow. I had no idea about the writers back story. Queen In Hyuns Man was also one of my favourites back in the day. Thank you so much for such detailed explanation about the backstory. I wouldn't have known if you didn't mention this. The actress, Han Hyo Joo is also my favourite. When I get some free time I will definitely check the episodes from your blog. Found it! Nine Tailed Fox - 2004 kdrama. I wouldn't keep much expectation out of it though. I personally liked the My Gf is Gumiho, and shin min ah really did a good job. All that said, I am gonna still wait for the day when make shows where FL is an immortal with genius and sassy mindset. Wonder when that will happen :(
