A Unique story which delivers a harsh reality in a very calm setting
If you're looking for angst and unhappy endings, this isn't your cup of tea.
the show does not sell angst or ragebait. if you're watch this, get ready to be challenged about your faith and a lot more.
the story was beautifully executed..
though I understand the frustration of some viewers.. who expected something more like YNEH..
but I'd like to say.. these two are very different shows.. yeah one might think they're similar from the trailers..
but if u finish watching both shows and still think they're of a similar plot.. then you need to develop some parts of your brain, I'm sorry to mention that though.
YNEH definitely showed the struggle and truth (somewhat) of queer relationships in religious settings.. (though I personally did not like it because of a few reasons)..
TTH is more about living with it. if you are queer and you think religious queer people shouldn't exist, please accept yourself as a queerphobe. homophobe.
faith and queer love doesn't always have to challenge each other.. or cross the other one out. humans can love with both. and this was a show about that. every queer person has the right to still love God. every religious person has the right to choose to love whoever they want.
the cinematography, acting, music were peak
yeah the story could have had some more angst (ik lost of viewers expected them to get caught while doing it).. but maybe this was never a show about angst. it was a calmer one. I'm glad I got to watch something unique like this. this is in no way comparable to YNEH, according to anyone who has depth to understand.
the number episodes was really perfect. any longer would make it boring, shorter would make it hollow.
