I agree with you on yichen's dilemma of fighting for their love with her mother when she is in critical health condition. I do agree with you on lu feng part. That he did made the situation worse . No one is defending lu feng actions. But how should I put it? Yichen has grown with such a happy family except that homophobic thing. It's true that anyone in his position will think about family than his lover.

While lu feng is also not wrong from where he is coming. I am saying about his feelings and not his actions( his actions are something that I can't defend period). He has always seen violence in his life so when he fell in love with yichen he fell deeply and don't want to let it go at any cost. Considering the fact that they both were so happy when they were together. They were each other's world. Specially for lu feng yi chen was like his light, warmth. He already lost him once and the fear of loosing him and to not be able to take suffering from separation is something that is the main drive here of his anger. Again not defending lu feng actions.

But at least for me the main problem with yi chen is that why can't he ever come out on front of the world? U can see in his college reunion, when they were in relationship even yi chen should have taken his time and effort to talk to her mother properly by giving some hints that love can't be forced and being gay is not a disease and he is completely normal. The first start of this should be from the time his mother was constantly talking about marriage.

Lu feng actions of not understanding the situation when everyone was trying him to hold back when talking with his mother escalated but yi chen was also at the fault for not trying to speak to his mother. He should have said to Zhou lan that he is gay. Atleast somewhere he needed to start which he didn't that makes him at fault. Otherwise isn't it also a human nature for other party( lu feng) to just expect something when he is always trying and fighting? It was not a equal give and take relationship and how much one can fight without getting tired or frustrated. Which he did also. All he wanted yi chen to be there with him. But that also lu feng sensed that he is ready to leave him without any thoughts. Yi chen could have explained that " we are taking break but we are not letting go of each other. During this time we will try to talk with our family and see where it goes" instead of that it came out as "we are taking a break because of my mother i don't know when we will be back together or if we ever be together". That's why lu feng bashed out enough is enough. Not defending his actions but i get his suffering.

If lu feng is to blame for his toxic behaviour then yi chen is also to be blamed for not taking enough effort in their relationship.

As a person who hates violence i don't agree with you here. Lu feng despite being the person who has always seen violence and power as the resolution to let out frustration since childhood, i think lu feng was the same person who knows how to love someone deeply to the point he can fight the whole world but will keep his love safe.

If u see lu feng and yi chen relationship. He was always do patient with him, pampering him, trying to always win his love.

Now let's talk about the problematic part:-
1. When lu feng R word yi chen- no excuse it's a crime not to be forgiven.
2. When lu feng was confronting xiao chen mother he was already tired of xiao chen not taking stand for their love. He was already separated for 4 years because of this and then with xiao chen because xiao chen was afraid of getting hurt again and when they came into relationship then also in gatherings coming as "friends" even when Zhou lan approached yichen. Yichen didn't told her that he is gay. This all made lu feng frustrated that if not u then I will. I will tell her that we love each other and are not ready to let go. That's why he emphasized " if not now then when?" Nobody knew that yichen mother will went to shock.
3. When yichen's brother was all provoking him that he ruined their life because he just loved yi chen and fought for that. Then why nobody is questioning his brother? He also used his hands constantly to push lu feng. Ik the strength was low and more of accusing in nature. But he did it first. Now lu feng yes he was wrong to push yichen's brother no one is saying that. But giving the whole situation we are understanding him that ok that's why ig happened although it was never his intention.

But saying lu feng always resort to violence atp i don't think so it's s correct statement. Otherwise it's all ur pov and opinion.

Ikr. I mean I do understand yi chen's dilemma but he just want happy ending while he doesn't want to fight in the world for their love where clearly people around him think homosexual relationship is not normal and push the fighting part to lu feng.

My mind is screaming "Whyyy yichen just why? " Why is it everytime yichen always give up when its time to fight hard with his family.
I get it his mother was hospitalized. So he just for the sake to keep his mother content said to take a break with lu feng. But lu feng was right to point out that it was not easy for him to even cut ties with his family just because his relations are not good with them. Even lu feng fought so hard when his father was dying in last moment. He is ready to give up everything. Then why is it everytime yichen has to give up their relationship?
I get it the time this drama was written and even today in most part of the world homosexual relationship was and is still a taboo but isn't yichen the one who said in ep2 that they are normal like everyone then why is that when his mom has said atleast one of her son should be normal he didn't said it politely that it's not the case after making her calm.

I get it lu feng is wrong to push yichen's brother unintentionally in anger. But he did said one thing correctly that why is him and yichen are breaking up and not yichen's brother and qin lang? Why his brother can't understand the pain of yi chen?

I get it yichen was also desiring a happy family with lu feng, his mother and brother but i just get angry with him so much that why yichen can't take a stand for himself for once and fight for his love and consider lu feng's feeling.

Lu feng was right to point out who the hell yi chen think he is? Because when he say break up then break up and then when he say relationship then relationship. Why lu feng comes last in his priority list?

And why no one consider lu feng and yi chen for once?

I get it lu feng was wrong to treat yichen like that but i understand him. He has always been pushed so hard to let go the person he love more than himself. It's torture for him and yichen also.

The sole difference between lu feng and yi chen is that they both love each other and in one hand lu feng can let go of everything but not yi chen but yi chen can let go of lu feng and make both of them suffer rather than taking stand for himself for once.

Now that toxic arc has started...story will go downhill from here in the sense no one will be righteous or good now.

Aahh. How to wait for another week?

Finally completed watching all aired ep of this drama without any bias in my head. Cbl never disappoint. I mean when lu feng and yi chen were and are in relationship and in love they really don't need anyone. They are so happy with each other highlighting bright and warm colours.

But there are few parts where I want to scream to yichen to please give equally in this relationship. I mean I get it he got hurt by lu feng and his breakup in his school days. And they were literally craving each other's love and presence but man please why I sometimes feel that yichen is just too pushy towards lu feng. I really loved yichen more during school days where we really fought with his parents and family for their relationship.

One thing I truly liked is How the series shows when they got intimate for the first time yichen was like " i am a guy why things are like this" showing that he want to take relationship to next level but has some little bit male ego( not saying here in negative aspect) and then he threw tantrum just to take time and lu feng handled him with so much love omg. Ig this will be the best and unique part of any series i have ever seen.

Down in the line I really fell for lu feng in how he sees yichen with so much love, warmth, smiling eyes and face, handle his tantrums, notices his little things whether he want to say something or not, plan future for them. The concern if he leave his family and property how he will give everything to yichen and will yichen still love him. Except R word part i truly like lu feng.

But what broke my heart is that lu feng still has some doubts in how yichen feel about this whole situation. Why can't yichen just come out to the world that he has bf.

I am so excited for tomorrow new ep but i am really anxious also because in last ep they said " this was last they were truly happy".

Ik i am being biased here. Yan xiao should not have hit GJZ. But i think i guess where he is coming from. All his life he is constantly hearing from everyone that he is born with heart illness so he can't become marquis then when GJZ said that that he does nothing with his life. It's like putting oil in the fire. I mean those carrying weapons and always trying new modifications somehow shows that he didnt want this life. He want to fight and become someone.

Also why the whole world is so obsessed with Yan xiao not able to become marquis and carry his family lineage? Does heart illness means it's the end of the world as people constantly portraying in the drama. Why it's not that people who understand his pov or empathize with him instead of giving him scars to carry?

GJZ also assumed that he chose this life and he is really dumb. Just because she at the age of 15 is intelligent and smart i don't understand why she is expecting everyone to be like her? I mean it's not that Yan xiao is dumb but he has father's status although he doesn't seem to care about yan xiao and mother's love that spoiled him where in capital nobility class people were seem to be worshipped. Of all people I think GJZ should have understood his pov that he didn't chose this life.

That being said i am not defending yan xiao beating GJZ out of anger and jealousy. But this whole incident was so sad.

I am in ep 6 and I must say this drama is addicting. The whole plot, characters will keep u engaged.
But there is one thing in ep 6, CYY when he fought he looked so powerful compared to his scholarly demeanor. It's contrasting and amazing as well. Also i am impressed with GJZ and CYY bond. They understand each other so well without communication. So far GJZ don't see him as romantic interest but I think CYY has some soft spot for her. In ep 1, when she burnt whole room by randomly taking his lantern, he went to see her that who is she? Maybe that's when it started. After that I think CYY also is impressed by GJZ intelligence and how she understands the risk associated with land equalization and tax reforms. Ig that's why when she made remarks about his paintings it was in his head and he painted a new one and one jewellery( i don't recollect this rn what exactly was that ) as if he is saying to her in mind this is my sincerity. And everytime, anything that deals with GJZ like marriage talk if he didn't had any feelings for her idts he would be concerned to beat Yan xiao so as he can go and resolve the matter. It was ig his hidden interest as well. But i don't think he knows that GJZ like CXQ. I wonder how CYY react when he know about this.

Or maybe I have been spoiled by the emotional depth and wonderful plotline, cinematography, good acting of to my shore that in this drama the emotional stake seems less. I don't understand why everytime yi chen has to push lu feng? Why I am only seeing lu feng giving his all to have the person he wants but the only time I saw yi chen suffering is when lu feng was leaving in ig second episode.

Apart from that the actor playing yi chen has stiff acting according to me. It doesn't make me feel anything.

Plus I am impressed by other dramas stories rn whether it's bl, bromance or straight drama. It's the plot that is imp. Since this series deals with toxic lovers a market filled with FF, saturation of plots, it's the execution that matters here which I think is the main problem.

The story between lu feng and yi chen looks more like lovers in school to one sided love now to me than the lovers who can't be together due to society or family.

This is probably the first time I want after my stand in for ml to not end together. Because lu feng deserves someone who can choose him with warmth completely. He was a good person but now someone who uses physical force when things doesn't go his way. I get his suffering but he is becoming red flag for a person who is always giving him cold shoulder. He is always asking for one validation and attention from yi chen. In real life it's better to move on from that Person. That's why ig this is one of reasons this drama is not working out for me rn.

Plus it's a drama from china. I had high expectations tbh.

I thought i am the only one. This drama has everything good cinematography, good looking actors, toxicity but for some reason I feel that drama is not able to make me emotionally invested. It feels like I am watching just because all i hear is this series is good. Or maybe I think there are lot of good dramas that are going on i am not able to do justice with this drama. Maybe i should check it out when I am in proper mindset to accept this drama.

Not sure about that. But sometimes I feel that jj does not know what to do with his smile and face sometimes. Not that I don't like his acting. his acting is good in emotional scenes and intense scene. It's just that during romantic scenes where he has to look into net eyes his eyes don't show me emotions like warmth, shyness all i can see him is smile. Or maybe net is a very good actor, the way he sees nakun/ klao the warmth, love, fear, sadness, fear to loose someone he love and hold him dear and never let it go u can feel his feelings through his eyes, actions, touch. When you pair someone that capable actor with somehow who is new and young and still learning, the acting difference u can feel.

But still this doesn't impact the feel and plot of the story. Rest of actors also has done a good job. Plot will keep u hooked. Atleast for me i think they have maintained s very good balance between nakun past life realisation, discovering lost pieces of klao life which was a secret he kept within himself, love blossoming between phop and nakun, jom and kaew love life. At the same time drama gives u slow burn. They have really utilised 1hour very nicely so average acting gets ignored here.

Even I had the same doubt why yim is not hurt as written in synopsis. Generally people who are hurt again and again( as per synopsis) they don't usually even go to temple and ask for bf just after few days of breakup.

But I think the hookup between them should not be taken as the reflection of emotional state from yim pov. As it can be possible that he is still not up for attaching himself romantically in emotional level.

But again the bf wish and hookup does contradict the impact that is supposed to drive the plot.

Looks like in this drama I should not expect anything logical and go with the flow to enjoy. But it's still hard for me as i am plot driven peron.

I am at ep 5 and I have a doubt. Why when fourth master mentioned canal gang thing, chen yan yun slapped him. I mean that kind of gave me little bit red flag vibe from him as if he don't want to talk and let anyone know about this. And what exactly happened in canal gang? I didnt saw in series mentioned earlier will it be explained later? Or the rainy night where GJZ saw him killing someone is the incident this is talking about? Is ml a green flag person or grey flag. Can someone help me in clearing my confusion?

I was excited for this considering boss neoul is one of my fav cp. I loved them in boy next world and LITA. But looks like this drama is not for me. I get it that this was supposed to be fun and cringe at the same time. But for me atleast the concept lacks execution. It's way too cringe for me and the comedy is not hitting me either. Plus the plot wise all I can see till now is nothing new. It's better for me to drop this drama.

I hope I will see them in future projects where the characters or plot has more depth.

How do u know that they are homophobic?? Are they telling you? Remember some actors who actually in BL they literally are homophobic irl like the actor who played Pete in kinnporche.

Plus this series never promoted themselves as BL. I guess queerbaiting means when you are saying you are queer or LGBTQIA+ and promote the content like that but you don't get that. It's to attract the queer audience and people who supports community to increase views. But this series has never done that.

And for people who is watching this series, who told u that are homophobic? Or I can reverse the same thing and say those who don't want to see are people who don't respect straight people or have an understanding that bonding between two person can be more than just an romantic arc.

Either u don't know what does homophobic word means or we are having different dictionary for the definition of Homophobic. Please be respectful of others choices and if you are uncomfortable please share your criticism but have a logic behind that.

Second episode was soo good. The way younger Niran was shown chasing a butterfly who is free and nature's beauty contributor and Niran who is supposed to be "Wu" who protects nature but yet surrounded by loneliness.
Then Pete discovering his birth mystery and who is he? What's beneath him?

The bond between niran and pete is just so pure. Before Niran's entry in Pete's life, Pete was just surviving doing multiple jobs and paying bills and just struggling for everything in his life. Surrounded by loneliness. When Niran said that he don't want pete to suffer and die it's like someone cares for Pete truly for the first time and he felt touched. Niran adds that excitement, adventure and purpose in Pete's life. Same goes with Niran. He has set his walls so high that he is not open to anyone enter in his life that's why whenever Pete gets friendly with him, Niran just rolls his eyes but I don't think he complain internally.

The way they said "I believe you and You believe in me" is so impactful not just on emotional level but it's a necessity for them to trust each other. Their hearts and mind need to be in sync and aligned in order to face the yao and demons. Truly deserving of tag bromance here.
Overall the plot, cinematography, acting is so good.

I know lot of people has said this series to queerbait but as long as I don't see any kind of romance arc between them like yearning for each other, tension between them, wanting more than just friends i dont think this "queerbait" thing is applicable here. I mean two people can be aligned with each other, love and care for each other, Go through life and death situations, be just like a friend or family where their souls are connected without having an romantic arc.

Oh sarcasm 😅. Sorry my bad. Then i have to watch. Because I loved the chemistry between cp in longest promise. Plus synopsis looks interesting.

I haven't watched rise of Ning. But I like the cp. I always felt Ren Min and ci sha has more chemistry in longest promise than with Xiao Zhan. Just sometimes I was not able to understand their heavy screen time because of boring plot between them. Plus I loved ren min in hold a court now.

Why? Is it too boring or is it too entertaining that I will not be able to wait for another day? 😅

I am finding synopsis very unique. Usually in period drama it was always modern person going into past. Change history and past lover yearn and meet in present to finally be happy. This time I like the fact that a historical person went to present.

But first few min gave me the untamed vibe where both wei wuxian and kang dang sim looks like died an unjust death where they were not villian but was declared as villian. And same here ml has maintained bad guy persona. This will be an interesting watch for me. It has mystery which i am liking. I have so many questions which is a good sign that this drama has made me engaged.

My only complain here is the language she uses. I mean I get it she was first rank women in kings harem so she will think others as not equal to her. But in every 2 sentences when she was using "wench" word I didn't liked it. I really hope she stop seeing every other person as low to her. Also i just didn't liked that she was using other person facial features to determine their character. If she would have used their expression and situation instead for judgement it would be so good. But considering the setup is ik modern world i kind of get it why it was shown in this way.

Overall from first ep I am looking forward to this drama. Maybe after lovely runner this will be first kdrama that i am watching.
