I bet even teenage girls will like it. There is not even swoon-worthy moments for the teenage girls to even get invested. Not to mention their sense of humour is beyond our dictionary.
Ep7, For a moment I felt bad for both miao jing and her mother. Her mother all she wanted is to have a good and wealthy life with her daughter. Not for once she thought to leave her behind. But the problem is that considering old times she is too dependent on men to provide for her. Ofcourse she is aspiring to have a good job but she has to choose a rich man here to pay off her debts...and in that process since she never even communicated with miao jing about her arrest situation makes situation worse between them. Miao jing think that she is abandoned by her own mother. Which is not 100percent true....her mother do regret her life choices but she has already lost her daughter's trust.
Coming to miao jing. She was already in dilemma but looks like she already has ans in her heart about that and whole "i need to go first to talk then i will take u back" confirmed her that she cannot get a home with her mother that she is wanting. She chose to let go of her mother to be happy without her with a sense of abandonment that she has been carrying since childhood. Although she don't know that her mother was arrested leading to whole no contact situation. But it's a fact that she was left alone in difficult situation and that feeling is painful specially for a child.
So, when she saw chen yi outside of bus stand she don't see him only. She saw him as the only person whom she return to, a person who is giving his all to have her a place called home. Her only family. The only person who despite not having blood relation with her is truly the only person who has not left her side during difficult time when her own blood relation had left her side...she saw him as the only person whom she can find and is waiting for her when everyone left her waiting.
I found it little bit funny and adorable how they have started liking each other but they are not aware of it. And how they are equally jealous when they see other with boy/ girl. Also, the way chen yi just started believing her beliefs like asking for wish and questions and the way he lift her to touch dragon head to let her have all the good luck was so touching. Never he has once thought of his own wishes because she is his wish. He is not aware of that but his actions speak. He accepted to keep the good luck charm he don't believe in but made sure she gets peace and safety she desires. It's like he is unknowingly taking responsibility upon himself to make sure she gets what she wants just in exchange of her presence and care for him in his life...i see he is healing. He found a connection that make his tuff life bearable. A reason to live. A connection that is medicine to his wounds and light in his darkness. Although he is going deep in darkness like working for dangerous people so as she keeps having light in her life. When he made her wear age of coming bracelet he looks so proud of her and the sense of her only guardian. His heart warms when he see her growing up and he is part of that growth. It's like " we made it till here despite challenges together. Because we are walking together in this road". Her teacher said a very imp thing not all parents think about emotion exhaustion that comes with dealing diff people. It's dangerous also. It's like he cares for her emotional well being which comes very late even in romantic relationship. And can we talk about how he adorably looked at her photo in school board and fixed it just because it was little bit tilted. My boy has fallen hard.
This ep was the highlight of how ur actions speak even when u urself don't know that u are falling in love with someone...it's beautiful.

Don't know about theory but I don't like jBL at all. For me i need time to connect with characters. Their running time doesn't let me. Yes it has depth but for me spark is missing no matter the story. I always try but it just doesn't click. Same goes with kbl. Screen time doesn't let me. I used to watch thai bl but rn it's none. All were consumed by chinese drama. Bittersweet love i have watched ep1 and deep in I have same feeling i don't like it much. Mostly I love very grey characters and that's why double helix and to my shore is in top.
For me i am not finding any drama to watch somehow despite lot of dramas being aired. That's y for now I shifted to straight cdrama to take a break. I am getting more variety there rn. Sometimes I want to watch "Don't be too emotional" but it doesn't have that spark that toxic cbl carry.
I have watched till ep6, it's so good. Its not rom com. It's about two people who fell in love with each other when they were going through very rough childhood. It involves child abuse, DV, building connection in ruins and darkness . Specially ML he suffered a lot.
In times like this...cdrama are saviours. Like love for u( not rom com but very good plot), road to success, key to the pheonix heart are some good ones airing. But royal nemesis was such a disappointment for me. Till ep4-5 it was good. I can't say the same about Perfect Crown I didn't liked it a bit.

Trust me...when this was airing it was more frustrating....my mental health was in ruins. I had to stop watching all dramas and was watching only double helix on Friday and sat and rest days just suffering more by understanding characters and their toxicity...my goodness.
Even after watching i have to spend a lot of time in healing my mental health before I move on with another drama.
Lufeng is hands down most toxic character in BL history for me.
Mostly it's because of one reason. But ig yesterday it was 7.8. but the plot is good perfect blend of rom com and politics plus fast paced so it should get increase at the end. Let's wait. Even love for you started at 7.8 due to some trope but now it's also 8.4. It should get increased as time goes by.

I don't understand why people get irritated whenever someone ask something. Even no where in my words I have said anything bad about drama. If I am trying to understand the military arc then what's the problem here? When military arc is indeed one of the main plot here. You have diff way of approaching a drama and I have mine. Simple. Why to put down others?
Anyways, i will keep in mind to not overthink these minute details to connect dots in story like u said. Whether I watch it or not that's not something for u to decide. It's upto me. Let's not go there and spread hatred by using this tone.

The hate seems unnecessary to me here. I get the concern of aimi having romance arc with hou minghou( who is much older) but if u look into her acting she comes mature as per her character and ig considering her age there will be no intimate scenes or kiss scenes. As long as no intimacy i am good.

Why in the world a military commander will ask to put fire in granaries and armories if army comes in city gate? Because if the fear that maybe that could become the reason to supply the enemies to go even more deep in war so as to attack city people and eventually loosing kingdom then why the mention of plain? And why would city gate be that far in the plain that literally military reports will come urgently through cavalry soldier? And if it's that urgent then how aimi character has time to be in peace? Wouldn't there be rush to be safe? What i am missing here? Or I am simply putting too much logic in war scenes? Because I think by ost and opening scene it's pretty much evident it's talking about war...and ost is energetic in nature. Fight scenes were good so it has to be of some weight right?
