After watching up to ep 6 one thing I really appreciate is that our ML and FL are not OP (overpowered)

ML is strong but he takes hits and gets injured
FL is smart but she relies on wagering and taking chances

They don’t have any life saving skills, any crazy talent, any ridiculous plans—just pure survival mode.

I enjoyed the worldbuilding in this. I don't think I'm picking up Dashing Youth or Blood River though. Can only take so much nakama shii and talk no jutsu at my age lol.

The transmigration aspect is barely addressed in the novel, it's almost as if it weren't a fact. She had knowledge of people and events, but there was never even a scene of her transmigrating or going back to the world she came from. It was actually kinda weird but I'm grateful for it lol.

I am also not a fan of isekai/ transmigration stories and the novel was pretty acceptable in that regard. It's possible they remove that aspect entirely and make her just seem like a know-it-all.

Douban is for people to review the drama. In terms of views, it was at least constantly in the top 10 dramas in its airing period, according to Kuyun and Yunhe and Maoyan if I'm not mistaken.

I was sad at first that this got postponed but I want it to do well, so if that means waiting for the right time, I don't mind waiting! Now that I think about it, it might be a good winter drama since one of the most important scenes between the leads (in my opinion) happened while there was "snow" (short of spoiling haha #ifykyk).

Fun at the start but by the time the Beiqi arc happened I just mentally tapped out till the last ep. ML was too much of a Gary Stu. The premise with the mum was also kinda…weird (but at least they tried to put some sci-fi element to it). Then it had all these not-so-subtle preachy moments. Also, slight harem (ew) should be in the tags.

I think I’ll pass on S2.
