In my opinion, he would never go so far as to die if he knew the depth of XY's love for him. Yes he'd still fight till the end, but he wouldn't die. He would stay alive to be with XY. He only chose this path bc he thought Jing was XY's first choice, when really XL is XY's first choice.

I was already crying along with YaoXuan during their scene in the trailers. Their portrayal of the scene is exactly how I imagined it when I was reading the novel. So heartbreaking and shocking, and full of raging jealousy and desperation. 😥💔
