The Double is only good if you like revenge dramas with minimal romance. While they did a great job with the revenge part, I did think it took too long to resolve the Jiang family revenge arc, and there wasn't enough time for anything else to really develop. The ending is disappointing too, so if you already don't like the first half, you likely won't enjoy the second half. I do agree the overall rating of this drama is too high too... for me, it def doesn't beat SOKP or LOSL.

For me, The Double was a strong 10 until the last few episodes. Then it went down to a 9 for me. As for The Princess Royal, while I agree it's not as intense and addictive as The Double, the story becomes more interesting as the episodes continue on. We'll see if The Princess Royal finishes strong or if it'll also lose quality at the end just like The Double...

I actually felt like their acting was off...like they weren't able to fully get into character for this special ep.

I didn't read the novel. Based on watching the first 6 eps, I wonder if SRQ only pretended to care for LR in the first timeline and never fell for her, but in the current timeline he will actually truly fall for her? Hmmmm.....

Lovely Runner is my #1 all-time fav Asian drama. I highly recommend it to everyone!!

Yeah it's def a happy ending, no doubt about that. Just not enough shown to truly make some of us satisfied. Even Ep 40.5 wasn't satisfying to me...sigh

Agreed! I thought the story itself was very good, and all was avenged. However, the parts that I didn't like were related to the main leads' love story: 1) they didn't even get a happy reunion scene before Ep 40 ended, 2) we didn't get to see FL comfort ML regarding the deaths of his precious subordinates, 3) Ep 40.5 wasn't enough to show any happiness and chemistry, and 4) their delicious slowburn romance did not explode into a raging fire like many of us anticipated (vs. slowburn dramas like Story of Kunning Palace that fed us super well).It made me super thankful for dramas like Lovely Runner and Legend of ShenLi where we get an entire episode dedicated to their happily ever afters.

Strangely enough, the character I was most curious about was Shen Yurong. I wanted more storytelling from his side (villain origin, his ambitions, his thought process for his decisions, etc). I also wondered whether he truly loved anyone...he didn't even love himself. :(((

It wasn't enough. :((( I really wanted to see their happy reunion under their blossoming tree, with a tight, warm embrace and sweet words. I also wanted her to comfort him regarding the two deaths of his precious subordinates. It would've soothed my heart to see all that.
