Slow burner with multiple couples
Its one of those, you either like it or don't. There are 3 or 4 main couples imo. Storyline is an overall 7. Its a youth drama spanning over 10years or so.The main couple friends to lovers: the male lead long suffering always loved FL. Loved his sincerity. He had to match up with a good looking rich 2ML. I enjoyed the couples journey. The romance was there but emphasis on ML working hard to achieve goals in a time e-commerce is taking over.
The other couple: i really enjoyed the "poor" girl becoming an actress. She really potrayed the temptations and downfall of fame really well ( although it was alcohol abuse, i think we can read between the lines what it was really meant to represent). Her ending was tragic but her performance throughout sad/ good times captures the viewer. Her unwavering fanðŸ˜
3rd/4th couples: one is unrequited love and the other is death do us apart.
Slow burner fun to watch. I like FL so it kept me going. Not used to ML as he is more on the cute side for a ML. Still adorable 🥰

Third party interference
Can you believe 3rd parties can have such an impact? Yes in this show.ML and 2FL had a relationship. 2FL left as felt she could do better and ended up with horrible man. So decided to come back and found ML is in love with FL. 2FL has a good on the surface relationship with ML family. I think shes the mothers goddaughter or something. Shed slso after the "gold" and status. The horrible ex also wants in on the game.
FL had a relationship with 2ML. It didnt work out. 2ML had feelings for FL but more guilt because of how he left things. He is married now but treats FL really well.
So thats the setup let the games begin. Mission: FL needs to leave ML at any cost.
- 2FL is obv manipulative making FL believe there is more to her relationship with ML.
- Oh to make it easier to complete this mission 2FL moves into the family house and plays games on the newly wed couple e.g lipsticks, random photos in ML space etc.
- motherin law hates fl so easy to gang up on her with 2fl
- the 2ML been an ex and all this is obv used to create misunderstandings including feeding into ML jealousy
- could the misunderstandings be avoided. No? Maybe if couple lived on their own. Yes if they really trusted each other. But i still think 2FL was determined.
- you can guess the tropes: ml gets drunk tricked into believing he slept with 2fl. Final nail in the coffin and its over
- then the horrible man continues his mission to get the familys status via 2fl.
ML was just not believeable maybe too weak. He loves FL but just not guarding her and looking out for her - trying to be peacemaker too. He was clear with 2Fl ni feelings but still ended up in a position forced to marry her. It was bizarre
FL has good will always prevail attitude. So it got a bit....should these idiots be together.sometiimes the writer just spent too much time setting up the evil - hence my review talks about all the bad. I kept thinking why are we putting up with this madness? Especially when fl lost her baby, they divorced and 2fl got married to ml. Like wt? It was absurdity after absurdity.
I watched it because...im bored. I also believe the good will come eventually so needed to watch when the bad guys get their comeuppance. I know its mental!

Ex's that just won't leave until they've ruined you
Yes folks. Nice cast, older cast. Potential to be great, maybe.Main story: ML and FL both divorced and have a kid. Exes in their lives. ML is a charismatic man who is strong business astute and FL is a headhunter good at her people relations. Knows peope and helps ML in hard situations. She is strong but cant deal with her ex/mil too.
First quarter FL ex causing trouble 2nd quarter ML ex causing trouble. ML and FL stay strong. But we see less and less of them together because:
...the snooze side stories. I cant even say much as they were snoozefest.
ML been charismatic a lot of women fancy him so gets attention everywhere. He doesnt lead them on but he keeps them around to not rock the boat. FL is so insecure at first, then finds her confidence half way and pushes through.
Yes just been put together.. Can't tell you why? Was it for ml and fl how they become formidable? Don't know. I was t0o lazy to change the channel

Something is missing
...I dont know what it is.A) Maybe the CP was not right?
B) Story sometimes seems confused: romance, design, business or action show. I've seen a few like this and I don't mind ( i always say to myself maybe censoring means they go all out hoping at least half the material is saved)
CP: Love Designer, Something Just Like this, Sunshine of My life to name a few; didnt really have a lot going ( sometimes toolong and boring!) but the CP carried the show to the finish line. You always wanted to see the flirting, the winning the competitions, even the romantic scenes few and far between or loads BUT it worked. Something about the couples brought it home.
imo its just not here. When they are together it seems not much chemistry. Ive seen both in other shows (ML mainly support roles but he did well in Jiu Ling) and felt they did better jobs in selling the chemistry so convinced the pairing here wasn't quite right. Other couples didnt save the show either.
Its still watchable not sure i can do it again. Maybe look for clips or 'movie version' if someone has decided to put the main couple clips in a movie version format that will probably be better.

Nothing like the original and a miscast ML
The original is better imo. There was something about the sillyness and slapstick nature of kdrama that made it work. ML in kdrama was written well and made likeable. This show has not really redeemed him and it was "put them together 2 together just because. So watch it as just another show forget the other show! Now as a show:The trip in kdrama when they bond and talk like old friends made me ship them. We didnt really get the long sweet moments of just and FL was in love with younger ML.
2ml and 2fl are strong characters and shouldnt have been cast as seconds. I feel they got a bit more airtime than they should have. A lot of scenes of them talking about the other two instead of more scenes of ml and fl just ",hanging out". I see why people have 2ml syndrome. We just didnt get enough of ml and fl chemistry. I even didn't see why he left 2FL. It was just a bunch of weirdness!
