I just hope that this forced marriage thing ends with tomorrow's episode. There are a lot of other problems this couple could've faced but the 'parents using their kids to make business' is the only thing the writer came up with.
At this stage I don't really think we're going the get an explanation on why the mother left. They should've told us that she died after being hit by the white truck of death.
DESERVES HIGHER RATING T.T 8.4 DOESN'T DO IT JUSTICE
It's probably because it's not fast paced, but I'm just glad this is doing well in Korea and Netflix. For more things like this. I'm actually glad that I watched all major dramas so now I can decided what to watch without having to relay on other people's opinions. They gave Angel's Last Mission a 8.9 just because of the pilot and it's not even close to that. But hey, as long as OSN doesn't become a second Something in the Rain, I see this as an absolute win.
I disagree. The romance, I don't really get why they are paired up with each other.
Nah, I totally get what you're saying and after ep 04 I also thought that they used it as a plot device, but then again, the show is very fast paced. The Chief of Staff managed to get fucked at the end of last episode and now he's up there again. For them to bringing the "take down mrs. Kang right in the beginning of the first season makes me believe that it will be solved quickly too. And to be fair it's not the first they have to fuck with one another to get what they want, and they both understand the rules.
If it was any other show she would've ended everything with him the moment Mr. Oh entered the room. I really like they've managed to keep the drama interesting up until now but I'm worried since a lot of things start and end very quickly. But on the other hand I'm totally ok with a "this is not a romance story, people" vibe if they wanna go that way. On the same note, the intern will probably fuck up big time anytime soon.
It's not silly, it's the writing style of the show: they need cool scenes and cliff', not coherence.
Of course it's silly when you have the actor go way out of character just to get caught. If only they had shown him tired or something to justify him being dumb. Hell, in the beginning of the episode it shows him concerd about Mr. Oh sitting on his chair and trying to open the locked drawer. Would you keep the USB drive there? lmao.
Now, for a mastermind as Jang Tae to leave a USB drive in a place like that that is really silly, especially since the assemblyman believed Mr. Oh without checking the content of the drive.
I disagree. You can't have that build up between the main leads in just a few minutes so they move on to the part…
>it is obvious she was not into the rich guy Of course it was, but that's the whole point of the drama. From where I'm from this whole plot would've been solved in 3 minutes. "I want to be with her and she wants to be with me". Done. But a little research will show you how many taboos there are in Korea. The single parent taboo alone would take a movie alone, but we also have the younger sister plot, the old sister darker plot, the whole family structure thing. Good luck fitting all that in a 1:40 movie without rushing it.
But I do agree with you that sometimes this drama drags way too much when it comes to the ex bf. Now we will probably enter the parents being the bad guys arc and then the mother, who will most likely feature at the end.
Something in the Rain was my first drama and I also hated how they handle the drama after the 10th episode. The…
Because it's not a strong year for kdramas (or 2018 was way too strong). One Spring Night really caught my attention because it's a story that doesn't rush anything, and even though it's not perfect, it feels raw. The chemistry between the leads is so great that they didn't even get together for 08 episodes but it feels like they've been together forever, just because before they have their fist kiss they had to go through so much stuff already. The support cast have enough charisma to keep the drama going without you feeling the need to skip some parts (apparently that's a thing). There are some bits with the younger sister and her love interest that's really funny if you pay attention to it. It's the first time that I actually rewatched some episodes just so I wouldn't have to wait a whole week to visit the story (bear in mind that until February I only watched finished dramas).
But by far the best thing about the drama is that it doesn't have most of the tropes most kdramas have. No childhood friend, no memory loss, no nothing. If anything, it subverts some of the tropes (especially one that made Something in the rain unwatchable for me). It really feels like a story about someone that lives near your house or you went to high school with. It's by far the most praised drama from this year on /r/kdrama alongside with Her Private Life (the end sucked though).
Honestly, this drama should be as a movie not a drama..
I disagree. You can't have that build up between the main leads in just a few minutes so they move on to the part where everyone is against it. Most of the stuff in this drama happen when they're apart.
At this stage I don't really think we're going the get an explanation on why the mother left. They should've told us that she died after being hit by the white truck of death.
My cousin who doesn't give a shit about kdramas is watching.

TWICE.
THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH TO GET US THROUGH THE WEEK.
