Recently, Hou Minghao's kissing style became a viral topic among random nonfans from X. Fans are doing a detailed analysis about his kissing style. But this God of kissing still gets shy watching his own kissing scenes every time 🤣 . Give him a hole to hide!
just thinking about how he might’ve been offered a good modern script with the setup he likes but li xue shut it down at the door bc it isn’t the most profitable for hs makes me scream
remember how in li xue’s vlog she said she read the first 3eps of que gu (key to the phoenix heart) and approved it before giving it to minghao? imagine all the other scripts that get sent over but hmh never finds out about. yes, good modern scripts are hard to come by, but how do you know they didn’t already come by when an agency like this is at the door?
Busy scrolling xhs and I can't put my smile down seeing many passersbys who praised him today. Music festivals are really good for visibility expansion and promotion 🫶.
I think the reason is that this drama was the first to start filming, and Ai Mi looks like a 15-year-old girl…
You are essentially arguing that the standard is flexible based on how many people are watching, which is an inconsistency. Popularity explains why the backlash is loud, but it doesn't justify the double standard. A fair critic should be the same no matter what kind of drama it is.
I would like to mention that dramas like Rebirth, PM, and MOTGA (historical dramas with age gap issues) did not receive the same level of intensity as this one.
And if you think popularity (genre or artist) justifies different standards of criticism, that’s your call but it’s not a logical position I can engage with further. Cheers.

You are misreading my point. I didn’t say it’s a “Big IP” or used that as my own argument, I was merely quoting what you said. I was responding to the reasoning you yourself gave. And I’m not trying to turn anything to the drama’s advantage. I am pointing out a pattern in how the same issue is received differently depending on the visibility and interest. This is the inconsistency I am talking about.
And I agree that people can have opinions on the casting or a project and this is not the point I’m disputing. My point is about how the concern is applied unevenly across similar situations and not about whether criticism is allowed.

Me being a fan doesn’t address the argument. I am talking about the inconsistency. Where did you get the idea that I was defending this underage casting. You are actually reinforcing my point. You just said people engage more because it’s a “Big IP” so the reaction is driven by interest and visibility, not just the issue itself. That’s exactly why it feels selective and disproportionate.
“When I first said she filmed this series, what I meant was that she was still a child back then.” and she still is a minor when she filmed her other upcoming drama. This still comes down to the same thing, people are choosing when to apply their concern. When the response depends on hype or personal interest, it stops looking purely principled and starts looking selective. This is my point from the very beginning.

But that still proves my point, people are choosing when to engage. If it were purely about the issue and their concern to her, the same energy would be present in other dramas too, regardless if it's modern/historical or the visibility. Also, being the first to film doesn't explain the intensity of the pile on compared to subsequent cases. If people are truly upset about an issue, the energy stays consistent or even grows with each new example.

Other intl 🥝s might not understand data well and don't fully realize how massive these metrics are, but LITC's stats is genuinely a standout.
