the script leaked and everyone thought the changes by the writer were okay but Zhang XiaoAn likes to improvise/change scenes during filming, those shooting pages leaked too and apparently he did this to the backstory of Zhou Jingze's fight with his father.
in the novel, the dad marries his mom for her money then gets a mistress with an illegitimate son and his love for the mistress makes him abuse ZJZ. in the drama, ZXA makes the illegitimate son be the actual son of ZJZ's dad, with the mom getting in between/now the other woman in their love affair so ZJZ's anger at his dad and now half-brother is less black and white since the dad's love/favoritism is more understandable. that's why the half brother was in the wedding reuters because they seem to reconcile unlike in the books where he's not really relevant after a while.
there also seems to be a specific scene about reading a letter in an alley that they say is out of character and want deleted but i can't find more info on why they hate it. EDIT TO ADD: fans still won't share the letter but comments say it's written by AI and very sexist. + they're also saying he changed lines in the breakup scene to imply that ZJZ had real feelings for Yesenin instead of just being confused out of gratitude.
So soon? Hoping that doesn't affect editing. Hoping this doesn't mean cutting out crucial parts of the plot/character…
