I will watch LOFG too but I don’t understand why you guys spread hate on this drama. We are almost halfway through…
a bunch of them aren't even active (barely 20 dramas watched) so just ignore them. they already lost whatever battle they're fighting by being this bothered while the rest of us are just watching the drama lol.
Don't be too quick to judge or over react to the poison plot as too many people here have. I don't think it is…
Zhao Dongling is also one of the owners of Upcoming Legend, the production company that co-produced this. The head screenwriter is reportedly one of her proteges. She probably lent a hand to make things cheaper, just like the makeup/costuming team was provided by Yu Zheng.
personally for me, it's good but missing a spark that can bring it to the next level (not just in a CP sense that…
iqiyi gives "gift packs" to all their dramas, usually on the 2nd day and on Sundays. TWD's gift pack on Saturday was low and there wasn't one on Sunday so people thought that was it but last night at 6pm they suddenly gave another gift which made the heat curve look abnormal. TWD was at the top of the TV search list for a bit so its possible some new people did check it out but just not at the speed to justify the heat curve rise. we'll see in the next few days if they do it again (and yunhe may cut it, as they sometimes do anomalies)
I noted the numbers in the google spreadsheet tracking I shared in another comment below and I'm sure you'll see posts all over xhs.
Not doing well in China. The first 6 episodes missed the mark so even things picked up by ep 7 unfortunately a…
most of the cast are young so they can recover. the ratings may be bad but the advertising has been good so far so it still might earn money for iQiyi.

it started at 2k since iQiyi changed the heat index in July to include livestreaming (they had an announcement about it and everything). TWD had a livestream before their premiere so it inflated the number, then weibo bloggers began to say the TWD would open high like CD and iQiyi would manipulate the number like it did CD but anyone who knows/analyses data could see that in spite of the livestream that boosted the initial popularity, the rise in heat was not good. this was proven in day 2 when the rise was even slower and in day 3, when it plummeted. the c-ent audience is just not interested in it.
I didn't mean to start a fight but I follow the data on Douban and there were a couple of particularly noisy CD fans spreading misinformation about TWD's Baidu index and iQiyi search statistics. thus my comment about my annoyance. and to be fair, it could've also been a random person(s) just wanting to start trouble but they were posting new posts every hour until midnight (and again, early in the morning the next day) that even the people not watching TWD came out to defend it.

to be fair, there's also a number of CD fans in TWD's barrage enjoying/watching the show. it's just annoying when the ones who post on social media try to equate a one hour livestream before TWD's premiere to help boost popularity (which was just confirmed that yunhe didn't count towards their playback), to the 6 episode CD variety show (that yunhe does count lol) and say that they're both being favored by the platform.

the problem is a noisy faction of CD's fans are pushing that TWD is also đź’¦ even though the douban data workers keep shutting them down, plus that one big weibo data blogger who keeps posting high Yunhe/heat predictions for TWD even though the trend is obviously not going there. i've already seen twitter sharing his posts so the misinformation is spreading faster.
personally for me, it's good but missing a spark that can bring it to the next level (not just in a CP sense that the drama page is complaining about, but also in a filming sense.) we'll see in the next few days if the script can raise it higher.
also, if anyone's curious how the first day did in China: it's average (leaning low) but that's expected since it's an original script with no big marketing push. people seem to be more interested in whether iQiyi is watering the drama like it did the last one rather than the plot (majority of Douban's data group seem to think not, which is good for its reputation at least.) and it's fighting Nezha 2's online release today so I'm just hoping it holds on with a bit of dignity lol.
Is that show bad why’s everyone complaining about drop it
it's a bit more tell than show in the first two episodes (so I get all the boring comments) but it picked up a bit after that now that they're actively solving a case instead of showing off the ML's smarts (just finished episode 4.)
My God, does he get a break, ever? Though I'm glad he's sought-after and busy.
yes, sometimes when I rewatch scenes from Scent of Time it's just not...right haha. I hope he (and whoever is in charge of his schedule) finds the time. Tang Palace might be the one in immediate danger since it was the drama he was talking about. but LIRD might be like Perfect Match which was a mix of live sound and dubbing. the serious dramas usually use live sound too.

he said in a livestream a few months ago that he gets bored when he's not doing anything so it seems like he'll be a workaholic for the next few years now that he's getting more offers lol (the only downside is he also said that back to back filming is not friendly to dubbing schedules so he might not be able to voice all his dramas like he did before.)
Aug 8 - The Wanted Detective drama promotion Aug 26-27 - variety show recording (hi6)
the rest of the time will be spent filming Love in Red Dust.
🍉Project Updates:
Bao Hu Feng He (Violent Tiger Feng He) - from Yu Zheng's clues, this seems to be the drama that will start filming in September. it's a double ML police/anti-drug thriller with an award winning veteran actor (🍉Wang Qian Yuan.) the director is Xing Jian Jun (Under the Skin.) haven't seen rumors of the platform or the screenwriter yet. the younger ML role is an ex-con accused of murdering his wife (WXY will have to shave off his hair for prison scenes.) the melon owner described it as "a thrilling western-style crime drama with police, criminals, and informants who constantly switch roles."
Lie Xin (Heart Hunter) - YZ said that WXY was approached for this after they had signed on to a drama and that he wants to do both but it depends on everyone's schedules. if the production team is willing to wait for him to finish that other drama (and it doesn't delay Xing Zhi Wan) maybe it can still work out.
Gao Bai (Confession) - rumored to have approached Zhang Xiao An (Always Home, Deep Affection Eyes) to direct. no news if WXY is still attached.
aside from that YZ says he has 12 scripts to choose from under Youku (suspense and historical scripts), Mango (house fighting and modern), and iQiyi (historical). guess Tencent is really serious about only using their contracted actors, or they're waiting for XZW's results before they offer him scripts.
from the fan reviews, they frequently mention a "good morning rap song," I initially thought it was the title, but the title of the song is "Night Fury Fight!" so Good Morning might be his stage name?
