it'a complicated but basically yu zheng lied (again). the end credits have lyx and wxy in top billing, the mom and 2nd couple as special appearances and the rest are in equal billing after that. so they feel scammed because only lyx and wxy are being mocked for the show flopping (even though technically it's not a flop, it's just average.)

Okay Yu Zheng just posted about it again and maybe he's playing alternate selves instead of 2 roles. we'll just have to wait and see.

Joseph Zeng had a few melons linking him to The Double so the other rumored one is him. + Yu Zheng reportedly tried to get Xu Kai to do it too after the non-Huanyu actors rejected the role.

for additional context, haters first attacked wang xingyue and lu yuxiao saying that it flopped at first because of them and people are only watching the show for the 1st sister storyline so they're retaliating. it's just fan circles viciously attacking each other as usual. just stay away from weibo drama if you want any peace while watching a cdrama.

Tang Gong Qi An was the first project after The Double's success. Xing Zhi Wan is a Yu Zheng project so it doesn't really count lol. He's probably gonna shoot something between April-July but no news yet on what it is. He said in his recent livestream that there'll be no modern dramas this year so either a variety show or another costume drama.

the tea from the douban forums is that the original script (filed in 2022) was centered around the first sister so it's really obvious in this arc. 4th son in law is supposedly arriving in the episodes tonight, let's see if they can integrate the plotlines better then.

the 2 roles is not confirmed yet, just speculation based on Yu Zheng's posts.

Yes, unless it suddenly explodes in the middle, 20M is impossible. But so far only Romance in the Alley and Flourished Peony have better numbers (from 🥭 dramas last year onwards) so it's not that bad. Going sideways might be because there were only single episode updates for the past 3 days but it's 2 episodes again starting tonight so we'll see if it can hold on against White Olive Tree in the next few days.

I think that's only outside China. Though there were complaints about it on Douban, a lot more of the active drama fans planned to boycott Yu Zheng before it even aired because of his plagiarism and antics. Barely anyone even wants to chase the data. But the numbers are okay for Mango. As long as they reach 15M average it won't be embarrassing.

novel story: FL enters the palace as a hostage and marries the emperor ML. Life in the palace is tragic they can only share their love for each other when it's too late.

drama: YZ seems to have switched the ML from the emperor to his brother (FL's childhood friend whom she can't remember and who dies in front of her in an early chapter). It's now a timeloop story where FL will keep trying to save ML but he's fated to die (a la Lovely Runner). WXY might play 2 roles (emperor and brother since they're supposed to look alike).

it's not officially announced yet but Yu Zheng has been noisy about it on Weibo so it seems all set unless something delays it. It's based on a short novel (link below) but from YZ's posts he's changing some stuff. will spoiler it in my next comment.

21M is the peak daily view so far but the current Yunhe average is at 7M which is fine for Mango but probably not for Yu Zheng's expectations lol. Kuyun TV ratings is at 0.45% which is not bad.
