I have not read the novel, but wouldn't it be so cool if Pim turned out to be the one behind the Opium dealings and the one to have framed Klao's father? I think it would be a very powerful message that both Klao from the past and Nakhun from the future, fail to deduce the one behind it all is a woman, because even now, in such progressive times, we dismiss and underestimate women, let them fade into the background (in BL series especially) and assume only a man could conduct such a major plot.

Chinese social media networks are readily accessible from abroad, people travel in and out of the country with ease (visa requirements are decreasing), and so long as the people of china are interested in same-sex romances, they will seek out and/or create same-sex romances. Just maybe not through official national servers at the moment.

there's plenty of viewers in china. just because something is released by a singaporean company doesn't mean it's only accessible to people living in singapore. you can turn on a vpn in china to get more out of your viki account, same way people in the west turn on their vpn when they can't find the movie they're looking for on netflix. that being said, there's also unoffcial streaming sites available in china where you can watch this even without using vpn. it's just not on tv, or on official chinese streaming platforms.

As for the actor playing Lu Feng, Ayden Sng, he's no big star he's had a few main roles in singaporean dramas and he's been taking on more supporting roles in chinese dramas since 2025 but he's not a well-known figure by any means, he hasn't really appeared on mainland television yet and I suspect that the fandom he'll build off of this project will determine what kind of roles he can pursue in the future.

I'm not judging her 'choices', in fact I can plainly see that they are barely choices at all in this industry. It is this authority with which producers and casting directors send every actress under the knife that I am criticising. it is not enough to praise the few that 'stay natural' when everyone is manipulated into changing themselves. It gets to a point where we have to be confrontational, where we have to start having these conversations openly. Lookmhee is a fine actress and none of this is intended as a slight to her, she is more a victim than I. It's not about her so much as it is about the casting director.

I am very familliar with east asian beauty standards, matter of fact my whole point is to criticise them. This isn't just any audience we're talking about here, GLs are still pimarily enjoyed by women, lesbian women, women who have more motive to detach from heteropatriarchal beauty standards because of their social status. They cast these actresses as a way to force feed us these beauty standards when most lesbians are and should be inclined to reject them. I believe we are allowed to be upset about this and should speak out on it.
I really want to get into this because it genuinely seems so fun, but I just truly believe Lookmhee is a terrible casting choice for Klao. She may be talented and wonderful within her own right,, but you cannot sell me a female manual laborer who makes a point of dressing down because people shouldn't be judged by their appearances then also goes on to bleach her skin, has no muscle or any meat to her bone, does her makeup every morning and visibly got cosmetic surgery done. If Klao and Si are meant to contrast and reflect radically opposite lifestyles then you just cannot cast someone who looks as weak and artificial as Lookmhee, I'm sorry. Show me an actually tan and stout lesbian farmer or show me nothing.
Hot take but I unironically love the cringiness of JamieMars. It shows their humanity and affection, it's intimate, it's what uktimateky crosses the line from forgettable hookup to memorable connection.
Make no mistake, what makes this show worth watching are the lesbian writers. My hearts aches so much for Praew, I'm so glad Prim rightfully calls out Min for 'playing with the hearts of lesbians'. I'm so excited to see Shasha break and I'm secretly really rooting for Bambi, longterm lesbians are just so hard to let go of.... I'm still on the edge of my seat, I already hope we get a second season

Most thai bls focus on university students, but if you would like bls with more adult leads I recommend: Moonlight Chicken and A Tale Of A Thousand Stars (both feature the actors Earth/Mix, they include a lot of commentary on social class disparity), Manner Of Death (detective series, quite dark), Burnout Syndrome (about two working adults, a burnt out artist artist and an evil ceo), A Boss And A Babe (cutesy corporate romance), The Ex-Morning (exes who started their careers together are forced to work together again). There are more of course but these are the ones I've seen and can vouch for.
