I think the original Episodes are 36 for all platforms. But, Netflix is behind subbing so maybe that's why.

I think there is a cultural difference here. I've never heard of any my Chinese friends saying BFJ pursuing Dong hua was turned into stalking. Don't know why, but they don't see it at all. They just see it as a fun thing to watch.
