Title A River Runs through It
Just a background, the original title is “Upstream of Tears” or basically just going against the way the (river) current is going. The book which this is based from has a note from the author saying, “when reminiscing, gift this book to a person you admire but when you grow up, gift it to yourself.” Agree that the ending was poorly handled and the lack of communication in the last episode was annoying but the ambiguous ending and leaving was similar to how the author intended it to be—a time hopefully for the FL to choose herself first because only then will she be happy.
