It Doesnt Have to be that Complicated
Plus:- chemistry is A++
- Yusen’s character was beautifully written and is as green of a flag as a forest
- they’re both passionate in their jobs and the series captures how well they inspire each other to do even better
Minus:
- the backstory was complicated, i think it could do away with them meeting as boss and employee-trainee-owner

A Binge-worthy Lakorn
Background:- was in Thailand and breezed through a couple of lakorn in Netflix, this was the only one that I rewatched in detail
Plus:
- handles sensitive topics with such grace and consequently, power as well
- the focus on Grace’s upbringing of Mata - the recognition that it was something ‘unusual’ and being open about processing their set-up and their feelings
- Mata and Mata’s family is just a delight to watch
- James Jirayu’s portrayal of Penneung is a delight to watch, bringing a soft contrast to Mata’s bubbly personality
- their relationship was built on trust in contrast to the surroundings they were thrown in
- there was a point while watching that I just had to pause and applaud Ryu’s emotional scenes
Minus:
- not really a con but sometimes Mata is too understanding that it swings borderline unreal, makes me think if someone like her really does exist

Monarchy Romcom at its Best
Plus:- fun romcom set in a fictional modern monarchy
- a lighter, more mature version of Princess Hours
- the tension is not so much between the leads but between them and their situation
- issues between leads are not dragged
- I-An is dreamy (hahaha)
Minus:
- plot holes, many left unanswered
- 12 episodes is too short

love their relationship, love hate their love
Plus:- more than the love story, the story focused on the lives and reality of medical workers and firemen
- character growth and the transformation of their relationships (Song Yan with the brigade, Xu Qin with the doctors)
- Jiang Yu’s character
Minus:
- the prolonged indecisiveness of Xu Qin in a good 6-7 episodes, it gets better past that!
- Meng Yan Chen’s character is a bit questionable

Not for those who do the want to be disturbed
I’ve actually read Perfect World manga before delving into this drama so I have an inkling of the flow. This drama (the manga and movie) is not for the weak of heart and those who don’t want to be disturbed. The whole storyline delves into the struggles and the pains of encountering an accident and having your entire life changed. It also isn’t what one will usually see in other dramas that just takes a quick dip and immediately retracts into another cliche. Perfect world sees the iceberg for what it is and goes into the pain —the physical, emotional and societal aspects of it.Was this review helpful to you?
