On He's Coming to Me Feb 25, 2024
Honestly—I think it would be so cute if Ohm and Singto acted in a reincarnation drama hahaha~ He’s Coming to Me so far has stood the test of time. Ohm and Singto both look like such babies here but the storyline and acting are good. I appreciate it more after rewatching it :)

what? why? what did he do?
It would absolutely encourage OhmNanon fans; people were already posting and saying “Ohm wished Nanon HBD! This is a good sign” and “Maybe they’re friends again”. Don’t underestimate fans and especially not shippers, hahaha

It’s fine if you don’t answer here again, I just wanted to give that different perspective; that Nanon not responding can be viewed as rude but Ohm posting in the first place, knowing they’re not on good terms, can also be considered rude. Let’s be honest, how you choose to view it will just depend on which actor you like more. Ohm fans are more forgiving of Ohm and Nanon fans are more forgiving of Nanon.

Honestly I feel for Ohm and Nanon how I feel for Mew and Gulf—at least half of each of these pairings have made it very clear they are not interested in keeping up appearances of romantic or platonic interest. I wish Ohm and Nanon’s respective fans would follow suit and also just let the others be and not cause issues.

what? why? what did he do?
Let’s be real, it’s pretty clear something has happened behind the scenes with them. Even though common etiquette might usually be to repost, I think it’s also safe to say that you know when someone isn’t on good terms with you; publicly posting birthday wishes for someone with whom you have tension and someone who is obviously trying to keep their distance from you isn’t a good or kind idea in the first place. Those involved probably already knew that before posting. Why try to force someone’s hand to interact with you…? And why do that when it’s a colleague, you have fame, you know people will see it and you know it puts them in a tight spot?

And this applies no matter the circumstances—whether they truly are no longer friends or friendly (which is my personal opinion), or whether Nanon doesn’t want to be associated with OhmNanon/BB anymore but they are still friendly off camera.

Title Only Friends
Can someone recommend me some series with a lot of drama like this one? Thanks!!
Friend Zone is very similar to this one; FZ and Only Friends also have the same screenwriter/director. But I will say I preferred Only Friends :)

I was shocked that he returned to GMMTV.. His series outside of GMM is not really taking off.. and I thought he…
He was going to but a few things happened (pandemic, his father getting sick, etc.) so maybe he has either delayed continuing his studies or found that he wants to return to acting/specifically return to acting under GMMTV.

Title Only Friends
Khaotung’s acting here was really impressive, especially when he was angry and/or crying.

I couldn’t get into Top and Mew’s story, though; it reminded me so much of Earth and Sam from Friend Zone and I hated that relationship more than anything so it kind of carried over LOL

Title Addicted
What happened to the ratings iirc it used to be around 8 or 9
I have a feeling some people who only watched the remake/watched the remake first may have downvoted tbh because as far as I recall it was 8+ for the longest time?

Addicted is almost 8 years old now; for Chinese media, it was something completely different and it was hacked to pieces because of censorship. I think most of these newer viewers, not understanding the extent of this (like, that it was so full on that the show was cancelled, the actors were made to stay away from each other in public, etc.) and many of them coming from Thai BL (which is much more open) or even Taiwanese BL, maybe can’t quite appreciate how hard it was to get this show out there.

Also overall people have come to be more sensitive in recent years about how certain topics are portrayed—which I completely understand BUT my personal opinion is that it’s fiction and it’s tagged. People know what they will and won’t like when it comes to topics so it’s unfair when things like “dubious consent” are tagged and then people rate the work poorly because… there’s dubious consent lol.

Honestly I don’t hate this as much as everyone else seems to lol. It’s not amazing and it’s definitely not groundbreaking but I don’t think it was meant to be; it’s an easy, cute watch and lots of good communication (which can be uncommon in BLs). I’m someone who skips when watching things like this though soooo that probably plays a big part in not hating it. Even then it seemed too long for too little a storyline?

That being said, I’d like to see Joong in something a little more… more, hahaha. It seems like he’s got potential but the youth romance dramas just aren’t quite hitting the spot~

Lee Sun Kyun RIP… I haven’t watched any of his newer works but always remember him from Coffee Prince; it’s obvious how talented he was, it goes without saying. Thinking of his friends and family, especially his wife and young children.

I heard the news over the radio and my mum asked “who died?”; when I said it was Korean actor she said “it seems like a lot of Korean celebrities die/suicide” which surprised me. Even people who aren’t knowledgable about Korea/Korean entertainment can recognise the prevalence of this issue.

Yeap, more likely bi or pan.
You do realise that no matter whether YOU are straight or gay, no matter who YOU have worked with… it doesn’t mean you know SOMEONE ELSE’S sexuality, right? Unless the person you worked with was Mew himself and he TOLD you. He hasn’t publicly said that he’s straight or gay, so who knows? More than that, you say “have we ever seen him in public with a male that wasn’t a friend” but the thing is… how would we know? It seems like his private life is pretty private, I believe he also hasn’t been publicly involved with a woman either, right? But MOST OF ALL~ Why does it matter?

huh? is this new?
It was filmed a few years ago. The rights were recently sold to a Japanese network so it should air this December!

Person Aaron Yan
it is unfortunate the news that is spreading around Aaron Yan. Aaron Yan is the reason I got hooked on Taiwanese…
To answer #3, in Taiwan you have 16 as the legal age of consent BUT there are controls (such as the older party must not be abusing the younger’s inexperience). Considering Yan filmed when the other had said that he didn’t want anything to be filmed, and subsequently these videos were leaked, there is an argument there. The main thing though is that Yan disseminated the videos and, although age of of consent is 16, 16 is still a minor/youth. Creating, possessing and sharing this material is illegal.

I’m not saying it WILL but that it COULD because of the nature of his scandal. I don’t feel like that is an outlandish consideration, no?

What I am saying isn’t that it has anything to do with China (although technically it does—the rights to this series could be bought by a Japanese network only because the Chinese network wasn’t going to air it and sold them). ZZH was blacklisted due a “scandal” which pertains to tensions between Japan and China, which I think most of us know, so being in that situation and then having his show air on a Japanese network seems like something that some people wouldn’t look kindly upon. I am not suggesting he deserves any backlash as I have never thought so but it doesn’t mean that there WON’T be backlash. Hopefully there isn’t or, if there is, hopefully it doesn’t impact him. I am wishing him the best. As @Tidieu said, it wouldn’t be right for his talent to go to waste. I guess I’m just pointing it out because when I saw that Castle in the Time was airing, I thought he was no longer blacklisted… but that isn’t necessarily true.

This is airing on a Japanese network, so I guess it doesn’t really speak to whether ZZH is still blacklisted…
Yes, I know this but because ZZH’s scandal was centred around Japanese/Chinese tensions, I don’t think the situation is comparable with those other actors^^
