Because it's not porn. They're hinting at sex, not showing it full-on screen in white harsh light. I'd rather…
TBH I can't see how much detailed they could have been and not turn it into porn. How do you show a blowjob while not showing a BJ and the actors being clothed and not on a bed?
-
The answer is simply—movement. Other shows have done it well where you don’t SEE anything but the movement is what tells what is happening. Having a character give a blowjob where there is no head movement is awkward not in terms of character depiction but in terms of acting. Same with a handjob where the hand or arm doesn’t move at all. Like, all of the sounds and facial expressions aren’t cohesive with the lack of movement.

I understand that in this case, one character is not entirely into it but my personal criticism is that I don’t feel like that is why the scenes look so awkward (because again, awkward is what they look, when considering the characters, they should look more uncomfortable).

I get what you’re saying but, to me, it’s like a director deciding “I don’t want to film gore” so when a character is stabbed, you see that the rubber prop knife bend. There are ways to cohesively and realistically show such a scene without it being gory but that isn’t such a way; just like there are ways to “show” sexual scenes without them being pornographic or, frankly, without seeing basically anything at all. Just the impression of movement. It can be done; other shows have done it. What this reminded me of is when SK dramas all had kisses where there was NO movement (the main couple would literally just stand there with their lips pressed against each others for AGES). At that point, the kiss is pointless and, again, awkward not in terms of the characters but the acting, directing, producing, etc. LOL now THAT was an epidemic—dead fish kisses 🤭

That being said, it’s funny because I feel like I ALWAYS see complaints about NC scenes (not enough, too much, not actually touching, etc.) but usually am not bothered myself. But I think it’s not a big deal for people to discuss them because, at the end of the day, it’s part of the overall production and it is acting. It’s the same as having an opinion on ANY kind of scene :) Thank you for your perspective and sorry for the long response

Another series like Deep In, why I can't understand? I read and read what people say, and still don't understand…
I don’t know if you’re asking about the realism but just want to say that you can absolutely lose your memory of only a certain period of your life.

There’s a difference between hinting well and hinting poorly, though. It’s the same with the sex scenes where it just looks like one is sitting on the other and barely moving. Everyone knows what is supposed to be happening but it feels awkward/out of place.

Can you explain what you mean "that ZB1 wasn't a greater success"? I read that it was a massive success.
just going to point out, the song ZB1 released 3 months ago has 50m+ views on youtube which is more than some of the songs they released as a full lineup. they’re doing well. hopefully he continues to be able to perform and gets more roles n the future, too :)

i hate it when you finish a great drama and want to binge-watch everything else that the main actors have ever starred in only for there to be—nothing!!!! still can’t believe Min and Toptap had basically no acting experience before this.

tbf if the picture doesn’t match how he actually looks, it’s harder for people to find his profile
it isn’t just westerners who say that… and it isn’t just westerners who care about looks. just like it isn’t just easterners who say that and who care about looks. anyway, we’ll agree to disagree because for me it just feels like you’re happy to make the comments you don’t like seeing others make lol

the main users are from USA, India and the Phillipines respectively. of course there are other sites and apps that are more commonly used outside of the west but that doesn’t mean the comments you’re talking about were posted by westerners. it’s not wrong to say we don’t know when none of them have their location public, that’s all i’m saying^^ i just don’t agree with the generalised digs whether it’s towards the east or west

i mean, none of the people who posted about his picture even have their location public… so what ‘westerners’? but beyond that, i still think it makes sense for people to prefer that the photo on someone’s profile actually looks like them.

fan service !!! of course, don't believe that kind of news it's fake
they mean confirmed to be a paired couple. which it seems they likely are (given their success as a pair, the fact that they’re both under the same company and they obviously enjoyed working together—and worked well together).

also a lot of people are commenting on the title being “Payback” but there not being any payback; but isn’t the title about Sun and Jay? Sun’s nickname literally being currency, Jay constantly asking Sun to pay him back, them asking each other how they will pay each other back, Sun giving Jay money when they first met, etc.

not only that but “payback” i think is better to understand not as in revenge but as in karma (that is, those who do good will ultimately receive good; those who do bad will ultimately receive bad). a major plot point is that Sun more or less gives up on revenge because he starts to seek instead a healthy, healed and happy life.

i get maybe it’s not what some were hoping for but there are comments suggesting it’s an oversight or that the ‘revenge’ has been lacklustre; but it’s all intentional. i feel like the previous episodes did a good job at showing that Sun was shifting away from wanting revenge to focusing on living well (building relationships, helping others, doing a job he enjoys for the first time ever, etc.). that is to say, Sun is receiving his “payback”/good karma (having others care about and treat him well, being helped by others, etc.).

omg Min and TopTap intend to do more projects together!!!! TopTap said “There’s more to come. We’ve only made it this far because we’ve been together. I’d love to do 2, 3, 4, and many more projects with Minlee”.

after watching them together in Payback, i can only say i am glad and i am being fed 🙂‍↕️

My only, but rather big problem with Payback is that the drama itself is called payback, they talk about revenge…
a major plot point is Sun’s focus shifting AWAY from revenge. and to be fair, i think “Payback” refers more to the relationship between Sun and Jay (their first interaction where Sun paid him, Jay calling Sun Two Baht, Jay putting a price on the cigarette + other things, them asking each other how to pay each other back, etc.).

while there are definitely some things that are a bit disappointing (like Sun not coming across as very street smart despite his upbringing lol), i think some of y’all have missed that SUN’S FOCUS HAS SHIFTED FROM REVENGE! it’s not that he’s FAILING to take revenge when he is trying; the whole point of the last ~2 episodes, and the idea that was forming even in episodes prior to that, is that Sun has subconsciously redirected his focus to building a positive life, building positive relationships, etc. rather than throwing everything away for revenge. it follows the source material…

For someone out for revenge he hasn’t planned well and has been quite ineffective. More a damsel in distress.
Sun only started seeking revenge after overhearing Sunny. that is to say, he didn’t have a plan going into Dream Entertainment - and pretty quickly he found people he loved/trusted and his focus shifted from revenge to wanting to live his life well and trying to let go of his own guilt surrounding the deaths of his mother and brother. like, i don’t think they were trying to make him seem as if he was seeking revenge effectively because the point was that he was largely shifting his focus to something more positive (and then Sunny is the juxtaposition; becoming worse and worse)
