Netflix had already bought the concept and it was always introduced as a love story - long before Heated Rivalry even aired. I will say, the marketing for Soul Mate has been extremely bad and thus created some doubt. But it being a LGBT show does not have ANYTHING to do with Heated Rivalry, I promise you. LGBT content has been popular for years, look at shows like Heartstopper and Young Royals. I'm not hating on Heated Rivalry, but I don't think we should give it more credit than it deserves.

Omg with the way things are going I can just imagine the finale will be like they get together in the LAST second and then *The End, Rolling Credits* 😭

The first episode was so silly I couldn't believe my eyes at times lol but I find it very addicting already.

I still can't believe Father He stood and looked Liuyi in the eye and said "I'm saving my wine for my daughter-in-law." This famous gangster is choosing to spend spend New Year's eve with your son in a super intimate setting.... Open your eyes!!!

And then when you finally get to watch the episode, you blink literally ONCE and the episode is over! Some kind of witchcraft

Why exactly? This was ordered by Netflix and in production before either of the two you mention even aired. And Heated Rivalry isn't even a Netflix show, what?

I mean I kinda agree cause I'd personally vote it higher but isn't 8.5 actually a very decent average?

I might be the only one but I hope the second couple don't get a lot of screentime in the remaining episodes... No hate towards them, I actually find them intriguing. But we only have 9 episodes and the relationship between the two mains is already complex enough and there's so much progression still left to happen. I just wish this show was longer! Revenged Love made me think the future formular for cbls would be 24 eps lol.

I read somewhere that Yan Zhao came in pretty late in production as a replacement for another actor. Does anyone know if this is true?

If it is, imagine getting in on a project on a cancellation ticket from someone else and NAILING the role like you were born to do it...

This is just insane

My ONE AND ONLY issue with this show is how the episodes are getting shorter. They started out being 50+ minutes and now we're down to 40 minutes. Please don't let this sad development continue. If anything, the episodes should get longer and longer. Just my personal preference...

@love s2 Personally I found it really annoying in the first episode but then I got so caught in the story that I hardly notice it at all anymore. If anything I just find it funny at times. But I can understand why it would turn someone off from this otherwise AMAZING drama.

OH BOY... I hope they slightly alter that part of the story in the show. I love a nice jealousy plot as much as the next person but I'm not really into seeing LY trying to force CS into sleeping with a prostitute...

That part gave me chills. Man, I love romance.

I know the season hasn't even finished airing yet but I can't stress enough how much and how fast I need that season 2 confirmation 😭

In a way I'm fine with it not being released sooner 'cause I would have been obsessing over it pretty bad all week lol
