I RAN OUT OF TIME (and also patience). Watched 47/70 eps. For a show about political scheming I didn’t find it very clever. Lots of things were happening just because the author wanted them to. The production is very high quality, although I can’t say the same about the writing. Sometimes I feel like the transition between some scenes were not sequential so the show felt a bit disconnected at times. The two main characters are quite interesting but I’ve not scene much growth from either character. Overall quite underwhelming.
At ep 27 and I’m really struggling to get through this drama. There’s a whole lot of talking - like they don’t…
And ning yi’s ambition of unifying the different states just feels like it’s coming out of nowhere? I mean I get he has nothing much to do now that he’s avenged his brothers death but still… go avenge your mums death or smth 😭😭
At ep 27 and I’m really struggling to get through this drama. There’s a whole lot of talking - like they don’t act out the scenes but just narrate them? It’s also quite slow and they spend a lot of time on unnecessary stuff but when we reach the climax of an arch, everything happens so quickly that it feels like they are just brushing pass things? I’m struggling to see the struggles and the smarts of the main characters too.
At ep 19 - this show is pretty confusing at times. And for a show that’s supposed to be scheming and “smart”, a lot of things are happening because the author wants them to. Like A is leading to B then straight to D. What about C??? I am still curious to know how things unfold tho. But I’m watching this too slowly, idek if I can finish it before it leaves Netflix. I guess I have 10 more days for 50 eps 💀
