I don’t know if I missed it but is there any point where Duke Su ‘officially’ finds out that Jiang Li is…
He knew from the beginning who she was because he had already fallen in love with her the first time he saw her as Xu Fang Fei. That’s why, since their first meeting, he calls her A’Li (which is her surname as Xu Fang Fei). If you want, I can rewatch the first ten episodes, but I just remember that one of the first times it’s mentioned is in episode 11. She played the qin, and the story of her music revolves around a woman who was betrayed by her husband. He indirectly addresses her by talking about the woman in the story, expressing hope that she will seek revenge and find happiness.Just them can understand the meaning of his words. But she also revealed a little later who she was. She knew he was aware of her true identity, but her revelations were intertwined with her feelings. The more she loved him, the more she shared her past. First, she let some clues for exemple : she mentioned that she no longer had a home. Later, she revealed that she wasn’t Jiang Li and she's from the Montains (where she died as Xu Fang Fei). At the mine, she even let him eavesdrop on a conversation where she stated that she was no longer Xu Fang Fei but now identified as Jiang Li. He also help her against the princess who revealed her true identity at the Palace and then when they visited the place where she buried Jiang Li, she indirectly tell him her story. So yes, I’d say that she tells him during the first 20 episodes (mostly 10-20).
I think the ending is a sad one. Duke Su’s both subordinate Wen Ji and Lu Ji dies, so he is all alone in the…
I had exactly the same thought during my first watch. I ended up stopping the show to cry. Not just because of his death but also about how she might had waited for him until she die. I hate sad ending like this tbh. Fortunately, the special episode saved my mood. After rewatching the show three times, I even skip the war-related parts to get to the special episode. I’m literally being delusional, pretending he didn’t die and that they lived happily together.
It’s not. Initially, the ending was supposed to be a sad one, but they changed it when they saw that the drama was becoming popular! It has a happy ending, so no worries.
I’m rewatching this show again and again! Obviously, it’s the best Chinese drama of the year! Sadly, the ending disappointed me a bit, as is the case with a majority of Chinese historical dramas. I felt it was a little rushed concerning the war and the relationship between the leads after the war. I’ve read that the ending was supposed to be sad, but they changed it at the last moment, which is why I’m still disappointed. Why can’t they have a proper ending like in ‘Wonderland of Love’? It’s frustrating when a drama builds up our expectations and then leaves us wanting more. However, I’ll say it again: it’s one of the best historical dramas I’ve ever seen! Easily making it into my top 5 favorite Chinese historical dramas!
Don’t you worry, I know. However he’s annoying everyone and everywhere with this kind of speculation. So I just want to know his source to stop these allegations.
she is coming soon since she signed a contract with an agence
I was hoping for a good project for her too. But after her scandal, they gave her a bad script (Eve). She acted well, but the production quality wasn’t great. Now that she has joined a new agency, I think she’ll receive better scripts! She has a big fanbase waiting for her, so let’s continue to support her ! (If you haven’t watched ‘Save Me,’ you should, because it’s one of her best dramas!)
The actor who played SYR is such a great actor. He's one of the funniest person outside the character as seen…
I’m talking about the character, not the actor. Don’t worry, I know that a character’s personality isn’t the same as the actor’s. But yes, all the cast did a great job.
