And i read a theory that sis in law is afraid that if mxy dies in battle, it may break ye li's heart and make her feel lonely again. Then triggering her mental illness. Having a child may ground her and make her feel less lonely. Sis in law did go through a lot in her grief. I can sort of understand her thought lrocess

I would agree with the other comments that it is abit cartoonish, but it's what appealed to me i guess. A lot of over the top and dramatic scenes. I had fun watching.

You can try a few episodes. You would already know if it's your cup of tea. It really has a diff tone from jadewind and first jasmine.

I like it that it was a battle between 2 smart female characters.
Unfortunately, Yeli for all that she's not completely mentally stable is able to see more clearly what may happen. But the dowager cannot see that her downfall was coming.

On the other hand, prince li.. he also seems clever, but especially his advisor. His weakness is Ye Li. He seems to be the final boss. But im not that impressed yet. Haha
I wonder, if he didn't break his engagement with Ye Li, they couldve been the power couple. They would be friends with prince ding's household since ye li would still heal mxy's legs and help with edict. But wait, i forgot that ye li hates prince li. 🤣
