Yes it's weird they emphasized that part. If grandma was poisoned (i remember she was bedridden), who did it? If fty's father, killing his own mother? That's a new low even for an evil character But if it's fty's mom? She was the one taking care of the grandma, it could be revenge for fty. Wild speculation. 😁
Eta. I suddenly remember a bts where zl was escorting his Mil from their house and threatened father with a sword. So is it possible they found evidence that fty's may have murdered his mom? O.o

In the novel, apparently, part of her dowry are her maids that would concubines to her future husband. Her maid didnt die in the novel, and they found each other again. She explained to her maid that it's not that she doesnt want her to marry, but it's because it's ZL and that she doesnt want to share him.

Really, madam wu should've learned by now as well, you have to tell yake directly what you want to tell her.
