Im not sure if there's any nuances based on the original language used that may say differently. And I've also haven't heard any backlash from the chinese audience. Tho i really haven't researched if there was any. It is considered to be a well known anime, so they should be chinese anime viewers should be aware of it.

I recommend it btw, it's set in chinese like kingdom, harem and court politics, detective stories. It was my balm while i was in a cdrama slump.
