Yes they talked through the screen. It's an acquired taste and some people were bothered by it, but a good chunk liked it because it was the whole pandemic storyline and at that point, everyone was videochatting anyways so it felt more relatable
You know, I'm surprised the girl or the mom didn't show up when they get touchy-touchy. Seems like a staple BL…
I think you were referring to the coconut. It was significant because we knew from ep 2 that he hated coconut, but at the end of ep 2, he liked Oh aew's smell (coconut scent).
Now he's sniffing coconut, most likely because it reminds him of Oh aew
Some god-tier sht. Thailand better step up their games after this.
I loved it for a lot of reasons. Cinematography, acting, the script, the production were all immaculate. I especially love the casting choices because the kids looked like them lol. Plus, we have a lead who is not PASTY WHITE oh my gosh whatta concept.
Plus a series that's exploring Thailand's beauty? I love Bangkok, don't get me wrong, but Phuket is that sht.
The main problem with this series is that when it's good it's good, but when it's bad, it's HORRENDOUS.
Miko, Iñaki, my boys, you guys deserved better. Idk if Xion wrote this, but it's such a disservice to you guys when you guys are so willing to go the extra mile for this show.
Overrated in comparison to which show, exactly? I’ve been watching BL shows since last year and this one blew…
Not really, and this is why I didnt say a show when the first commenter asked. I don't think it's respectful to compare apples and oranges, u kno. So I mostly take shows as is and comment on it individually i.e. i would use my gut feel as an operational standard when judging a show. Super subjective, I know, but it is what it is

Okay idk if you read my first reply, but i'd just like to add post episode 4 re the performativity aspect. The plot device that triggers identity crisis line. The constant zodiac reference. It's all kind of too unnatural for my liking.

It's really not just about BL tho. I apply the same standard to any other show, but I guess in terms of BL, I did enjoy The Untamed quite a lot, even though it's not explicitly shown in the series. I also enjoyed Crossing the Line and Trapped. I also enjoy GSP by the way. Idk why people are acting like I called it bad lol
Edit: idk why people are obsessed with changing my mind. It's subjective, and I'm clearly in the minority. That's okay lol. Not everything is universally accepted
Edit 2: i also know the shows i have listed have their flaws, too. And they're cliche, too. Im just saying that i like them based on my personal taste.

i guess hyperrealism is my thing lol. Maybe if we reach the coming of age part of this story, i would start appreciating it more, but now, at the point where I only watched the first 3 episodes? These are my thoughts.

The performative aspect is mostly the preachy tendencies the show tend to lead towards. I'm okay with the message they're sending, and I guess it's mr being nitpicky because obviously everything is going to come off performative since they're literally performing (as actors, duh). How do I say this? I guess, no one naturally says "I am nesting", or acts the way Judit does. Performative as in exaggerated and contrived is what I'm trying to say.
I agree with the derivativity. And I know that's their intention. That's okay. It's nice that they're "taking back our story" and I know that's how they fashioned the show: take normal stories you see and do it the way gays would do it. That's fine. Doesn't make it less derivative, though!
For acting, you hit it right on. But it's fine. I never said anyone was particularly bad.
The 6 things you said are totally valid, but I guess we are operating on 2 different definitions of hype here. Doesn't make you wrong. In fact, I'll give you that. I was mostly using the word in the literal sense i.e. the rating of this show versus how I would personally rate it.
To end this all, I would just like to say THANK YOU FOR BEING AN ADULT. Art is subjective. This is art. Interpret it however you want to, that's fine. We can talk about it like adults over drinks sometime. Like what Judit said "I am valid. You are valid"
I dont think it was boring.
Now he's sniffing coconut, most likely because it reminds him of Oh aew
Again, i feel bad for Miko and Aki because they do have the chemistry abd the commitment, but the material is, like you said, a trainwreck
And also Sky's brother who seems to exist just for the sake of product placement. What a disservice

Who do i need to fight?
I liked episode 4 tho
