I feel bad for the actors. The extent they're willing to go (THEY HAD SEX FFS) for the show is so commendable, but they're simply given a poorly written material to work with. You can tell that they respect their craft, but there's nothing respectable about the script nor the story they're given.

Sure, y'all can argue that it's like "Disney" and it's not meant to be realistic, but they immediately had sex after that one date? That's not realistic for "newly awakened" gays.

I agree with all you said. It's good if you take it for what it is: a cliche romantic comedy. And that's okay. No one's saying it's racing for the awards except certain fans (thus, I said it's a bit overrated). It's not bad, by any means (even tho napasubok ako sa commenter sa taas my goodness)

1. Dont put words in my mouth because I never mentioned any other show. More than that, never did I mention that GSP is garbage.

2. In comparison to other BLs, yes, it's good. But that's because the standards for BLs are typically low lol. We're talking relativity here and of course it's better. It doesn't take away the fact that imo, it's still overrated i.e. people rate it as 10, when I think of it as 7.5ish. That's the literal definition of overrated.

For the record, I think a lot of BLs are overrated. Call me picky or whatever, but that's what *I* (MY opinion, MY thoughts, MY conception of how the show is) think. I, unlike you, am not trying to shove down other people's throats my own opinions - something I have the right to have, last I checked. Reread EVERYTHING I said and check if I said anything about changing people's thoughts. Nope, you won't see it because I wouldn't dare to. I understand people's tastes are different so that's why I literally said LET'S AGREE TO DISAGREE. You should chill out yo.

3. YOU do not say it's competing for the laureates, awards, etc. It doesn't mean that OTHERS do not. The way people hype it up? You're clearly one of the more rational fans because the people I meet beg to differ and say that this one's a masterpiece. Maybe for them, it is. Not me.

The show seemed derivative and performative to me. The lines, while iconic and true, seem unnatural. Pao's (Karl) acting need work. Judit with no H joke is getting old, plus her invasiveness is kinda cringe.

BUT, hear me out. I do appreciate the show for what it is and what it's trying to do. I LIKE it, but I think it's much too overhyped (prolly because Ian is a gift from the gods). If you take it as a romantic comedy and not overcomplicate it, it's good. I appreciate the show.

Regarding the 9 day thing, yes it's impressive, and I dont want to take anything away from them because it's obviously so hard given the pandemic. But that doesn't eliminate the shortcomings of the show, but only merits some allowance for these lapses.

I rated the show 7-8 which is okay.

I feel like it's a bit overrated imho. It's not BAD, but I think they need a bit more work on the acting department. Ian's acting (and his face. And fine, his body, too lmao) remains to be the best thing about this show
