maybe I can help explain some of your questions here...
1. why didn't Lingsha use it? The sole purpose of being the host is for the sword to obsorb the host's power and not in anyway helping its host. The host actually wasn't needed at all if the dead old grandmaster did the right thing first which was to find the ying yang jades but he wanted a short cut so he fought out to find 2 people with the ultimate ying and yang bodies to use them with his goal...
2. why did Lingsha have to go to steal the bow instead of tianhe or ziying? She had to because she knew she didn't have long to live and whoever is going to "accept" the bow would lose years of his or her life and that's why she wanted to do it. She didn't want neither Tianhe or Ziying to make that sacrifice. Remember what the devine guard said "regardless if the bow will take Tianhe as its owner or not, he will lose years of his life" and Lingsha knew that and that's why she reached out her hand to "accept" the gift and at the same time the punishment...
3. TianHe's parents didn't start the war 19 years ago but they could have prevented the now war. They could have used the jades to destroy the 2 swords but they didn't, they used them on Tianhe instead...
4.Tianhe went blind for going against faith. Everyone except for the people in demon world was supposed to die that day but Tianhe shot down the mountain and rescued everyone and going blind is the price he had to pay.
4. The writer wanted to save us, the viewers, from more heartbreaks and that's why they didn't go into details about Lingsha's life after the war!! Can you imagine how much more we are gonna cry if we actually were shown how she died?? I think leaving it unanswered like that is actually quite nice to me.. I can at least think for myself that she got to live for another 10 years with Tianhe on the mountain being his beloved wife!!!

first drama that has no unnecessary stupid misunderstanding between the leads and also no crazy, delusional characters trying to win the leads' love... such a nice pleasant surprise.. no boring episode nor repetitive dialogues.... i love everything about it except there was not enough sweet moments between tianhe and lingsha ☺️☺️
