Did you find anything to fill it in with? Lost to you? Or anything else?
I'm looking forward to the Korean Bl "Prosecutor's Proposal" and the Thai Bl "Don't Be Too Emotional", both start airing on June 26th. Both give the toxic dark romance vibes like Double Helix :)
I don’t see how Yi Chen should possibly get a happy ending with Lu Feng after everything he has gone through. I felt the same way about Shu Lang getting a happy ending with Fan Xiao. But this is fiction, not an ideal world, and these are complicated characters, so it’s interesting to see how it all plays out.
One thing I really liked is that Yi Chen didn’t immediately forgive Lu Feng and get back together with him after waking up from the coma. He’s still traumatized. The man literally flinched when Lu Feng touched him at the store, and he refuses to eat anything Lu Feng brings him. That feels very real.
I don’t like it when victims get back together with their perpetrators almost immediately, as if nothing happened. It makes all the suffering they went through feel nonexistent.
Same. I noticed that too. I think some people may have thought this was going to be something more predictable,…
I'm so tired of this BS. When will people stop doing this? There are plenty of soft, fluffy BLs out there. Let those of us who are into dark romance enjoy the few toxic BLs that get made. Double Helix is such a good show, from the acting, soundtrack, cinematography to the plot itself. It's a complex story with complex characters. There were plenty of warnings and triggers. Why do people see those and still decide to watch if they already know this isn't something they're into?
There are some tropes I'm not into, and I'd never relentlessly complain about them in front of people who do like them.
I'm sad about the fact that all the lovemaking scenes were non-consensual, the only one where Yi Chen was consenting was ruined by his stupid brother. For once I want to see Yi Chen actually enjoying it.
is it really rape? YC said, "after his deep kisses, i forget everything." YC seems like meh, go on with…
He didn't have a phone so he couldn't call the police. Zhou Lan confirmed the same. He tried to escape multiple times as shown. He nodded yes with tears in his eyes when Zhou Lan asked him if he wanted to leave. He really wanted to leave. The only time he started to give in consensually was when Lu Feng was drunk but then the cameras recording took away his last bit of hope. All the other times it definitely wasn't consensual.
