This is set up as a way for SY to discover and visualize how she lived before and what she experienced. This is the drama's CREATIVITY in action. And it is not just for Sang Yan. They are doing it for us to see as well. All the little pieces will start to fall together.

I think Sang Yan finding out about YiFan's past this way is going have more impact. He is not going to be angry at her. He is going feel her pain and know how she suffered. He already know she has no family. That horrible mother didn't even care and once again downplayed her disappearance. I can understand why the director did this. I don't know who decides novel adaptations. I guess it is the screenwriter working with the team.
