The last few times I tried a Kdrama that seemed interesting, it took a turn and went way off tangent. They all seem to do that. I like some of the older ones. But nothing beats my favorite Cdramas.

Of course Yi Fan is different from Sang Zhi. But Yi Fan and Jiaxu both went through trauma and hardships. The Sang siblings are from a happy family. There is emotional depth in HL.

hidden love is more fluffy. this one is darker i guess. but im only few episodes in so can change.
Hidden Love was a lot of sweetness but when you think about Jiaxu's past and the way he worked while in college to pay expenses and to pay off his family's debt to the stalker girl, it has a darker side. Jiaxu lost both parents.

Exactly. Some think HL is just a light fluffy drama but there is emotional depth. I cried for Jiaxu and loved Sang Zhi for being his strength when he needed it. It is no wonder he loved her so much.
