One thing that i came back for rewatch was after the bed scene and reconciliation. Lx was like you could have…
In all fairness to LiXun, I don't think he was passive at all. It just comes with his personality that he's really not someone who will do a confession (also highlighted in ep35 when he said 'so this is what a confession is..... so easy"). To me it seems it probably did cross his mind back then but it is a difficult thing for him, much like how social gathering is for a person with social anxiety. Although he was not vocal, he did show his interest in many other ways. He always made ZY aware that he treats her differently. That time when he went to meet her on New Year's Eve and gave her the gown, also when he dealt with FZJ, it's already a non-verbal form of confession.
I also like JingYi's interview when she said ZY was doing all that not because she has some agenda to make LX her boyfriend. But it's more because they were just naturally drawn together. I like how both of them were not so caught up in being boyfriend/girlfriend or official confessions, but genuinely just want to be around each other. That's why the immediate kiss on ep18 felt so right even without dialogues.
A bit off topic but most of us here are looking for our hangover cure lol I just saw Story of Kunning Palace trailer, looks really promising. And ZLH just looks *chef's kiss*π€ππ . I hope they all air soon, otherwise I will not be able to move on from L&P π

True. I only wrote what LiXun was probably thinking. He was basically fooling himself that he could cut her off. But we all know he'd eventually give in.

Yes. This is what I've also been saying before that regardless of his resolve he would give in eventually. I just wrote what I think LiXun planted in his mind. He's basically fooling himself on different stages on what he thinks he want. But you can clearly see he's given up resisting the longer they stay together.:)
My other favorite modern cdrama with focus on romance is Begin Again with GongJung and ZhouYutong. Try to see…
yes, I also recommend Love Between Fairy and Devil if you are into fantasy drama.. for this year, I think Lighter and Princess is the best modern romance drama. The Oath of Love is good too, but it may not be everyone's taste.
when I was rewatching some episodes I realized that in ep. 27 the most painful words were from Zhu Yun, and it…
I would really like to rewatch this scene with better subs. Youku subs are kinda confusing. But it did seem like one of the few times where ZY matched anger with anger in those first minutes.

I think all throughout LiXun knows ZhuYun cares for him. There were indeed two internal shifts within LiXun. When they met again he really made a resolve not to get involved with her again, although this whole resolve is being messed up because of the jealousy that he couldn't control.
The first shift was after the hospital scene, he finally accepted that he couldn't completely cut her off and would like a casual 'common colleague' relationship with her. We all know they would gradually get closer and closer and eventually get back together even at this phase, because that's just how they are. Here ZY is still doing most of the advances and LiXun seems to still be holding back.
The second shift was after the slap and hug scene, I think this just sped up what was already bound to happen. Here you can tell LiXun is not holding back anymore. He's just not initiating to verbally talk about it.

Yeah, that's why I think it is only after the slap and hug scene where something shifted within LiXun and he knew he needs to stop pushing away her advances. The little things you notice when rewatching, like when ZY confiscated his laptops, they have this staredown scene and he was looking at her lips, he's already making it obvious. Also when he put her head on his shoulder for the photo, those were clear signs, otherwise he's a complete psycho for giving mixed signals if he plans to reject her again. He probably hopes she initiates again after the whole HouNing incindent.
I'm rewatching some episodes now and I'm pretty sure after the slap and hug scene, LiXun was so ready to get back together. He's giving all the flirty signs, it's just that ZhuYun didn't attempt to talk about their relationship again. π Glad in the end he didn't wait for her to take the 'active role' again.
Not it being Monday with no new episodes to look forward to πIβve been trying out other Cdramas and it has…
True. I just can't seem to get into new romance drama these days. I just finished Weak Hero Class (not romance) was a quick watch, now I'm back to thinking bout L&P.haha I'm hoping January with TTEOTM will cure this drama slump.
I don't see with which eye some see LX as toxic. I think in the sp episode CFY summed up LX's character well.…
Nowadays, 'toxic' and 'karen' are way too overused. People should expand their vocabulary to actually describe what they don't like, it's not a one size fits all term.
I know some would disagree with my opinion and just a disclaimer that this is my own opinion, but this drama doesnβt…
You definitely have a different definition of 'toxic' than most of us here, must be hard looking for satisfying characters from that perspective. Not gonna convince you otherwise, just drop it if you can't bear it. π
But just to answer your question : "but the relationship between the leads are so toxic even when they havenβt even started dating yet, what more when they do?? "
Have you even seen the episodes when they were together? They were in fact in a happy and healthy relationship for more than 3 years. It is so happy and non-problematic and no drama material that we only got 2 episodes out of it.
done... it was a quick one but some scenes are really painful to watch. the 3 main leads played their characters really well. Si Eun's 'dead eyes' are giving me chills, you shouldn't mess with people who have that look in their eyes. and Choi Hyun Wook is also amazing as SooHoo, he's like a little Park Seo Joon to me.

haha yes..love the discussions here as well. :)

I don't know if that was it or if they would really release another special episode.

Looking forward to season 2.
