OK, I am loving this show. So twisty and creepy and well done. Director Shin is (was!) one nasty dude - that scene at Jin Hwayoung's apartment where he backs her up against the wall - dang. And then sending the red shoes. I love seeing that actor in that role after his role in Uncle.
Ha Jong Ho's house has a blue orchid! What does that mean? Is his grandfather in on all the shenanigans? Or is he?
And I am always bad at guessing stuff but never saw it coming that Oh In Hye was painting that portrait for the other girl to submit in a competition. That is one awful family.
I wasn't sure about this show as an adaptation of one of my favorite childhood books (yes, I am old), but gosh darn it, I really liked the first episode. I'm going to stick with it for now.
Ok, message to the show's fashion consultant... is Sejeong going to wear those stupid pantaloons for the whole…
I have to make a pitch for her outfits. I think she's a tomboy and she's comfortable. It makes sense to me for her character. It is such a bonus to see a FL in a kdrama consistently wear shoes with no heels and clothes she can easily move around in. I don't think the clothes are meant to convey she's a geek, it's more related to her athletic career.
I am actually reading this right now! 👀👀 Haha. I finished the first book and am somewhere in the middle…
Probably a little too niche to be banned here. I'm in the US and book banning is a real thing, but my library in northern Michigan does a great job. I'm so glad to hear that you are liking book two. I will pick that up this week.
For all the Vegas/Pete fans out there - have you read the Captive Prince series by CS Pacat? It's fantasy and not mafia but it's sexy, has a prince who's been turned into a slave, our other prince (i.e. Vegas) is trying to get out from under the thumb of his uncle who is running the kingdom until our prince comes of age, treats the slave/prince like a thing until... not sure what as I haven't gotten that far. I'm really liking it and thought some of you might, too. Three books in the series, all out and I got them from my library!
OK, the scene where On Ma Eum's mom is distracting the dad with her sexy bathrobe and falling off the couch - laughed so hard. So hard. That shit is what I love in kdramas.
Any thoughts on Goo Jun Yeong's comment in the 4th episode about On Ma Eum reminding him of someone? When they were drinking coffee after their run. When first went to work I thought he was married because that woman was in the window waving at him. Is his mom dead or something?
OK, so I've been wondering about something for a while and writing all this out will likely make me seem like a dope, but I'm going to do it anyway because you all will know the answer.
So Korn has known all along about Porsche and Porchay. In fact, the gambling uncle was Korn's plant (or is that also a lie?). And Korn just leaves them alone until Kinn accidentally meets Porsche. But when Chan shows him the videos of the fight in the bar, Korn goes to Kinn and says - hmm, this guy looks interesting, maybe he could be a bodyguard for you? Was the KP meeting the impetus for all the rest of Korn's nefarious plans? Or was Korn waiting and watching, looking for the perfect time to ensnare Porsche some other way?
That VP scene just before Vegas got shot - my heart was pounding. Pete asking Vegas to just look at him. And all the times Pete said - I'm here, I'm here.
