I really enjoyed Ep 28 as it portrayed that life was just rolling along for the Qiao family but why do I feel…
Yes! I loved Ep 28. Wayyyyyy less angst, they just let us enjoy the family being together 🥰 everybody seemed so happy, we had Yiding being so adorable with his son and everyone gathering for New Years'! 😄 I felt like everything was all right with the world!
Can't agree with you about Yi Ding. The way he speaks to Sanli when he gets angry is a just No No in my book and…
I don't think I could liken him to Chenggang. We've got consistent updates about him all through the series ever since he met Sanli. With all the instances we've seen him, I think we can sufficiently gauge his character. What he did was wrong but very weird for his character. Yiding isn't like Erqiang or Qiqi. I keep wondering how and why he would suddenly have such a violent temper.
We know he isn't a coward. He was the one who broke the chair over Master Ma's ex-husband when he was attacking Erqiang. He took charge and sprung into action when Erqiang had to be taken to the hospital. He's witnessed countless showdowns in the Qiao family and never ran away. Thus, he isn't a totally subdued/shy/stupid character.
I think what we have here is a case of "Even the mildest dog bites when pushed into a corner." He suddenly changed after his accident. What happened to make him like that? Was it the fact that his mom never cared for him while he was at the hospital? She never let up on her constant nagging and keeps demanding things from him, but there's only so much you can blind yourself to. Is he taking his frustration and anger out on her because she's the only one who takes his outbursts without retaliating?
The thing that makes me conflicted is their conversation in their bedroom when he asks for a divorce. He said nothing about his own feelings. How did the other divorces go? "I feel suffocated. I want to do what I want. I want to be free. I don't love you anymore." How does this one go? "You have it so rough. You're still so young." Nothing is ever about him. Why was he crying? Why did Sanli say she knew he was picking fights for no reason and that he'd be sad if she left with so much conviction? What did that sudden, desperate hug mean? I felt like he realized he couldn't compromise anymore. That he's too weak to overcome his childhood insecurities with his mother, but he could also see these insecurities were causing pain to Sanli. And the only option he could see was to let Sanli go. He didn't absolve himself of responsibility. He promised to take care of Sanli and their son. So what would change if he divorced her? She would have no obligations towards his mom.
I'm not ready to give up on him or assign him as another bad character yet. If he turns out to be a bad person, I'll be as shocked and hurt as Sanli would be. But they do have to talk things out and he definitely has to change.
I am getting close to all the drama, but I found YiDing very dangerous, after all the experience of films and…
I disagree about Yiding. I think he's just very very stressed out over having to choose between his mom and his wife. Of course, I'm not condoning his behavior, he was wrong to yell at her like that. But I think he's tried to please his mom all his life because he knows he isn't her son. I was cut to the heart when his mom said "He doesn't WANT to know." He's obviously trying to do everything he can to be accepted by his mom. He's obviously been hurt by her before. But now Sanli is also getting hurt and he has to make a decision.
Sanli-Yiding and Erqiang are the only ones who have convinced me that they really love their partners. I feel real love from them. Yiding is the most romantic male here. He will have to change, but I don't think he's a bad person.
Just completed Ep 25, 26, and 27. Wang Yiding seems to have changed after that accident. Both of them will have to sit down and talk about the way they're going to raise XuanXuan. Other than that, I don't think he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't condone his behavior in any way, but I definitely don't think it's grounds for divorce.
Sanli's MIL said this: "He doesn't want to know." I think he's been trying all his life to please his mom because he wants to be accepted. He sees himself as inferior, always second to the real son. It's obviously stressing him out to keep hearing her say bad things about Sanli and treat her like garbage. He could always endure everything else because he's used to letting his mom have her way and enduring whatever hardships he had to face alone. But now he has Sanli and he does love her. And he knows his MIL is wrong and this time she's affecting someone other than him, someone he cares about. He doesn't know how to handle it. He keeps trying to find ways to make a compromise between his wife and mom, but obviously, no one will be satisfied with that. He even considered divorcing Sanli so she could be free of her MIL troubles. That wouldn't have been an easy thing to decide.
Every couple fights, and this is what he and Sanli have to overcome. That temper seemed very unlike him. But I won't say he can't change or is a bad person.
On a different note, YICHENG'S HAPPINESS IS HERE!! I love his relationship with Nanfang. They're adorable together. Song Qingyuan is just amazing 😂 I love him so much for doing all he's doing.
And I don't want to talk about Chenggang and Simei. All I will say is: Yicheng slapping him was one of the most satisfying scenes ever. I jumped in my chair, but I was so happy. He's such a good Big Brother.
I think I've finally grown up. I'm going to stop judging the characters so harshly. I think I've gotten used to exaggerated, unrealistic dramas, and that's why I felt like throwing a character out as soon as he/she made a mistake. This drama shows you that every family has their own problems. Yes, you have to carefully choose your partners, but you will never know them fully, no matter how many years you spend dating them. Marriage is a whole different ball game. And we're all human, with our own flaws and weaknesses. I think I expected perfection out of every character, and that's why I was disappointed. It's not the problems that should take center stage, but the way the family manages them. I love the way they band together whenever there's a problem. Yicheng loves them in his own tough-love way, and his siblings know it.
Oh no! This breaks my heart! Yiding was and is my favorite male character. He's the most romantic guy in the drama.…
After Yicheng's friend, Yiding is still my favorite male character. I also noticed how I feel genuine love only between Sanli and Yiding. I saw him reciprocating. Yiding waited for Sanli everyday, he quietly made sure she reached home safely, he made an effort to be there for her family. I didn't see any of the siblings' other partners do so much.
Erqiang has started to be a little romantic with his Master.
"Guys don't woo their ladies" How many of those ladies gave them a chance to? Qiqi and Yicheng were basically jumped by their exes. The ladies strung them along and these guys suddenly developed feelings for them. Yicheng, Erqiang and Qiqi's relationships were all weird. There was no real love, no actual happy conversations, no enjoying each other's company like best friends.
The problem is that everyone rushes into marriage without getting to know their respective partners well. Did…
In Yicheng's defense, he DID try to stop her. He never stopped stopping her, so she did things on her own. He yelled at her, he tried reasoning with her, he stopped talking to her for a while... what else can he do? Sanli also warned Simei multiple times. Even now, she doesn't speak anything good about Chenggang. They all warned her. But she refused to leave the fantasies and dream world she'd created for herself. She's blindly stubborn... she didn't listen to anyone. The news of her getting married was a shock to the family.
the people complaining about the "messes" kkk it's a family drama and one of the most realistic when it comes…
I'm complaining about the CONSTANT mess. IK it's a family drama and I'm ready for all the sadness they throw at me but like 95% of it is depressing while we get only a few short, scattered happy scenes. They just never get a break.
Hi. Can anyone explain why YC was angry with SiMei and QiChengGang in ep23? What did QCG do to get dismissed from…
Watched Ep23 and even I have no idea why he was so angry. I understood that Chenggang was fired from the military for misconduct because he caused an accident, but I didn't understand why YC threatens him with "If you do it again".... wHAT did he do??!
I am shocked and exhausted. That girl was bad news from the beginning -_-
Why does everyone think down-to-earth/realistic equals sadness? Sure, there's sadness. But there IS also happiness in everyday life. We humans cry and go through pain, but we also live, laugh and love. They always make the happy scenes so short or interrupt them while the sad scenes take AGES to get over with... a smile on the face of a character is so rare to see! And forget about a laugh -_-
Just finished watching episode 24, there are so many questions raised: why did Yicheng's wife want to divorce…
I LOVE Yicheng's friend! I seriously want him as a son-in-law but both girls are taken 😂 I'm sure he set Yicheng up with that childhood friend of his 😂 At last, I see a light at the end of Yicheng's long, dark tunnel.
I also think giving the child to the cousin is the right thing to do but it doesn't look like that'll happen
It was a wonderful calm before the storm.
