The dark aesthetics are similar only that Atypical Family actually has fantasy elements. FL in IONTBO has mental health issues and in Atypical Family it's the ML. FL in IONTBO is prickly and in AF it is the ML. Both are quirky in tone and slightly darkly comedic

Both dramas are set in the summer in the countryside. Both dramas have three siblings who make “trouble” for their parents, each with their own stories. Each drama has the one sibling who seems to be normal but makes the most trouble amongst the three. One sibling in each falls for the local guy, though the personalities and background of the MLs are different.

ML's in both dramas are former heads of assassin organisations that work for the crown. Both have ruthless rules of going against the organisation. ML's in both have superior martial art skills. Both couples have a mature relationship where they innately understand each other.

Supernatural ML and FL are similar, both supernatural beings who must do jobs given to them by higher powers or they suffer consequences.

The FL goes undercover to the police while in TWE ML goes undercover in a criminal organisation. Both leads risk losing themselves undercover as they make new connections

This is a reality show but the dynamics between the couples and characters are almost the same. They both remind you of young first love and the fumbles we made when transitioning from teenagehood to adulthood. Plus this show is filmed like a drama
