I bought 1 month Mango SVIP just for this so I started watching You Are My Fateful Love which is a mango exclusive drama. I typically don't subscribe to Mango so will use this time to watch this.

I changed my mind. Gu Lian is my most hated character in the series. I was so happy when the Yao family wanted to break the marriage discussion. Now it's back on. She is selfish, entitled, malicious and plain stupid. Same goes for her parents. I hope they get what they deserve in the drama.

True. I actually wanted her to smack Song Yiniang and Gu Lan also. Alas. Another good thing is that FL's brother was able realize the FL is the one who truly has his back.

I love how he now calls her Jin Zhao instead of Gu guniang.

Agree. I rewatched Ep 14 for the satisfaction of seeing her smack FL's father.

The doctor did say that the mother had depression. Back in those days clinical depression wasn't really diagnosed. While sad, the story follows.

The chinese sites put her graduating from Central Academy of Drama 1982. So we can assume she's born around 1962 area. Grandma Ji played her role really well especially in episode 14.

Same here. But I feel like they will redeem her.

I can do this. We need to have episode 13 and 14 in order for the story to move forward and FL and ML can finally get together. This is the silver lining and my only consolation.

I'm going to guess it's not good. But you know, this is shown on TV so I fear, they may rehabilitate her character. Coz you know. Everyone deserves a second chance. Yes! Everyone but THEM!

It's a good thing I waited from Thursday to Sunday to watch the episodes. I'm on episode 13, hit pause and had to come here and vent. I've never hated anyone in cdrama as much as I hate FL's father, Song Yi Niang, Gu Lan and Zhou Mama. I really really really. Ugh! At first I thought GL and FL might have a good sisterly relationship despite their moms. But I was wrong. While the older generation were the primary reason for all this, I still blame GL for knowingly participating in all the schemes, jealousy, greed and wickedness. They're evil!!! I hope they don't redeem her later in this series. At this point, Ye Xian is a much better person than she ever will be and I am looking forward to his redemption arc. Gu Lan can just go away. I do not wish her a good marriage. GRRRRRRRRR

Was watching episode 11 when I kinda felt bored with the FL younger brother story. I think I will wait till Sunday to watch so I have more episodes to binge. I don't think I can survive with 1 episode per day especially if the episode ending leaves you hanging.

Same here. I want her gone. But I realize they need to keep characters like that longer in the drama. But she really needs to go.

Ji Yao is cousin. The younger one I forgot his name is her full sibling.

Reading glasses. Hehe. The person said FL said she specifically chose things that ML will use. Alludes to his more advanced age. That's why he had that reaction.

ML may be ruthless and calculating but he has good intentions. Can't fault him for that. I can't wait for ML and FL to get together.
