I think you’re confusing personal preference with criticism I’m not saying the series is objectively bad just because the plot is simple. My issue is that the whole red-flag premise feels like it’s going to become the main source of conflict and character development, and I’m worried it’ll rely on unnecessary misunderstandings and drama to move the story forward. That’s what gives me the Wattpad-ish feeling. A simple plot can obviously be executed well, but “they never promised a complex plot” doesn’t really address concerns about the writing, pacing, characterisation, or how the story develops. I’m judging what I’ve seen so far, not automatically praising or hating it because it’s WilliamEst. . I don’t need to prove that something is “objectively awful” before I’m allowed to say I don’t think it’s written particularly well
