A good time travel story with HE

A good time travel story with HE

I watched the trailer of this movie on YT before it release and read some comments that said the movie have similar plot as Hollywood movie called If Only (2004) starring Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Paul Nichols, and the company who held the license to remake If Only movie into Chinese version sued this movie (Yesterday Once More). After Watching the 2 movies yes it was a little bit similarity, in both movies the FL died from an accident and the ML tried to save her in every time loop causes the butterfly effect that took the his life but the whole movie is so different from the Hollywood one.

Story about childhood friends who reunited and fall in love but once they got together it's not so smooth as you imagine. In that day while both of them celebrating his birthday they got into a fight which end up in to an accident that took the girl life. He went home brokenhearted and took the birthday cake made for him by his girlfriend too a candle and make a wish. The next day he wake up seeing her alive and well but the things happens the day before seems to repeat itself. He tried to save the girl in every time loop and end up losing his own life. Apparently the candle handmade by his mother from when his a childhood has the ability for them to time travel or get into time loop. Lastly the girl found the last candle and made her wish and all a happy ending :D

A beautiful movie, main leads has good acting and chemistry and the OST is really good too, recommended for you who like this genre.

Realistic Youth Drama

It's not an idol drama with fluffy romance, so I think this is not for everybody.
The drama sets in late 70s (Mao era) tells about a bunch of teenage kids from military family background, how they struggled with their life, chasing their dreams and love life. Then Deng era begin, they took the advantage from economic reform and became businessmen that change their life and became prosperous.

Some of them have successful life with happy families and some of them failed, the story ends in early 2000s when an epidemic hits China, I think it's SARS although they only said it's a highly contagious pneumonia.

The acting is really good from all the cast, Xiao Zhan acting has improve a lot, it's a realistic drama with the cast wear minimum make up and they look more human compare to idol dramas where everybody have flawless skin.

A very good enjoyable drama

I've watched hundreds of dramas but never write a review and this is my first :)
Idk why so many people hate this drama so much it maybe because of the toxic love story and the obsessive ML. It's cringey but I like it, the chemistry is there and the portrayal from Xu Kaicheng and Simona Wang as a newlyweds is so good. The acting of the cast is OK and watchable but the FL acting is still lack a bit. I almost drop it at ep. 11 like others do, but I keep watching and in later episodes there is big character development on the ML. In some flashback it tells the back story of the ML how he became like that. He is obsessive and controlling freak because he follow his father step who is also did the same things to his mother. The ML is obsessed with the FL and want to own her only for himself, so he did those unbelievable things cause he don't know how to approached her but deep down inside he cares so much for the her. This Season 1 is better than Season 2 in my opinion because it has better plot. I enjoy this drama very much, if you like contract marriage, cold male lead drama you can give this one a try and OMG! Xu Kaicheng is so dreamy hot :D

Realistic portrayal of a disabled person

Two sisters, Zhao Xiu Fang (Xu Di) and Zhao Xiu Li (Chen Xiao Yi), are both middle-aged women who are also single parents because they have both left by their husbands. Zhao Xiu Fang, as the older sibling, has a happy, easy-going and relaxed personality, in contrast to her younger sibling, Zhao Xiu Li, who always manages and interferes strictly in her children's affairs.

Zhao Xiu Fang has a daughter An Xi (Zhong Chuxi) and Zhao Liu Li has 2 children, a daughter Chen Ruo Hua (Yang Chao Yue) and a son Chen Ruo Xuan (Liu Heng Fu) as the younger one.

An Xin is a ballet dancer and also a famous dance teacher. She often tells her mother to live a healthy life, have a good balanced diet and lose weight. Right on Zhao Xiu Fang's 60th birthday, a tragedy occurred, when returning home after the birthday celebration, the car driven by An Xin and occupied by her mother and Chen Ruo Xuan had an accident, An Xin lost her leg caused of that accident.

This drama tells about mother and daughter relationships, and how Xiu Fang helps An Xin to recover from the tragedy she experienced. Xiu Fang, who initially didn't care about her weight, ended up working hard to lose weight, assisted by Liu Tian Yu (Huo Wen Yuan), a fitness trainer who turned out to be a former ballet dancer who had a dark past that caused him to stop dancing. Xu Di is a veteran artist whom we may know from the drama Love Like The Galaxy who plays Niao Niao's grandmother, she had to wear a silicone prosthetic for her character as a fat woman which I thought looked so strange. What's interesting is Zhong Chuxi great acting and how An Xin character looks so stressed and depressed because she suddenly lost her 2 legs and became disabled. Her chemistry with Hou Wen Yuan is really good and I can't deny that they are a real-life couple. The special effects are smooth and really good, especially when you see An Xin with her prosthetic leg.

On the other hand, Xiu Li always manages her two children's lives excessively even though they are starting to grow up and become adults. Chen Ruo Hua is a graduate student who is looking for work, Chen Ruo Xuan is a teenager in his final year of high school. Chen Ruo Xuan often felt pressured by his mother's behaviour against his desire to study art, often felt cornered and had suicidal thoughts, one day his older sister was frightened because she found him standing on the roof of the building alone, another time he secretly recorded a video of his last words. Chen Ruo Hua did not escape her mother's terror who always interfered in her personal affairs, including when she had a crush on a boy, because her mother's outrageous behaviour resulted in them having to break up. The acting of the entire cast is very good, Yang Chao Yue's acting has improved a lot in this drama, I'm sure every artist can act optimally if they get a good script, even though the crying scene is still a bit lacking, but she has worked hard.

A life drama that is quite realistic because it happens in real life, there are many lessons that can be learned and remind us not to become toxic people. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this drama, there's only one thing that doesn't seem necessary, namely the affair plot. If you're bored of watching other genres, you can try dramas like this.

CEO drama with mature cast

This is not an idol drama but a mature one that's why some people didn't like it. Vengo Gao was the right fit to play the ML or the CEO in this drama but Zhang Yu Qi not that fit to played the FL who is 27 years old because her look is too mature to be a 27 years old (imo), if they set the FL age to 30 it will be more acceptable. The acting of all the cast is really good and the chemistry between the lead is there. I really like the bromance and bickering between the 3 brothers.

The story is fast pace and it balance between business, family problems and romance but there is a little downside when they played the love triangle trope where the chairwoman niece comeback from abroad and try to take away the ML from the FL and caused unnecessary brake up.

Overall I really enjoy this drama and I hope they produce more drama like this.

Interesting fantasy story

Ji Ze (Zhang Rou Nan) is a student who is also an internet celebrity who looks cheerful on the outside but actually feels depressed because of the trauma of her dark past.

One day Xin Tang (Sun Chen Jun), a man who comes from another planet, visits the graves of his parents and plans to return to his home planet in 100 days because the portal to return will only open once, he has the same supernatural abilities as his father, he can creates the illusion of happiness by whispering words, if the person who receives the whispered words feels happy then it will increase Xin Tang's survival by the appearance of a red life line on Xin Tang's palm.

While at the tomb he met Ji Ze who tried to record their meeting live. He didn't like being recorded and used his supernatural ability by whispering words to make Ji Ze forget about it. This supernatural ability cannot be used on the same person 3 times, if it is used 3 times on the same person it will tie their fate. This happened to Xin Tang because he accidentally saved Ji Ze several times by using his supernatural powers. Xin Tang will live as long as Ji Ze feels happy. Knowing this, Xin Tang tries to make Ji Ze happy by becoming a star on her live streaming show. Can Xin Tang succeed in making Ji Ze happy considering that the girl suffers from depression due to her past life trauma?

The premise is very good because I have never watched a fantasy film/drama with a special story like this, I really hope that it can be adapted into a drama with a longer story and it will be more satisfying.

This film is directed by director Lou Lou and also collaborates with Gou Jing Ming who is also the director of the film Cry Me A Sad River (2018) where Zhang Rou Nan also plays a supporting role

Realistic restaurant business drama

Lu Zhen Zhen (Song Yi) and her boyfriend Liu Si Yuan (Wang Ren Jun) both work at a large restaurant in Beijing, both have manager positions, Liu Siyuan as operations manager and Lu Zhen Zhen as customer service manager. Due to the restaurant's poor performance and a lot of debt, it was forced to be acquired by Zhongting Capital, led by Liang Qing Ran (Charmaine Seh). Due to the acquisition, there was a change in management. Lu Zhen Zhen had to lose her job and her boyfriend Liu Si Yuan was recruited to work at the Zhongting Capital office in Chengdu.

In Chengdu, Chuanbai Luo, the Sichuan cuisine restaurant owned by Gu Dapeng, Gu Manting's father (Li Chun), who is also Lu Zhen Zhen's childhood friend, is also on the verge of bankruptcy and will soon be taken over by Zhongting Capital. Lu Zhen Zhen also returned to Chengdu, her hometown and tried to help Gu Manting and her father to increase the profits of the Chuanbai Luo restaurant again with her customer service and marketing skills, but they still couldn't pay off the huge debt and had to be taken over by the owner of the capital.

Female-centric drama about the restaurant business, the main characters are strong and intelligent women, very realistic and relatable to everyday life. This drama with a total of 24 episodes is packed very compactly and the story plot is not boring, the story is balanced between the world of business, romance and the problems faced in the lives of the main characters, there is no doubt about their acting because they are senior artists, especially HK artist Chairmaine Seh, I really like her acting as a smart female entrepreneur. Suitable to watch for those who like to eat/cook because in this drama there are also lots of scenes of how to cook typical Sichuan food.

Cinderella and parallel world

I finally watched this drama after I put on my PTW list for maybe a year. At first I got scared cause of the amount of the episodes, 20 episodes with 1 hrs 10min runtime :\, and yes it's so draggy I think it should be enough with 12 or 13 episodes like most Taiwanese drama are.

The FL an editor who went in a coma and travel into the novel she is editing and become the main character inside the novel, she ended up working as a staff in a company own by the ML as a CEO who she is adoring in real life. She is facing ups and down interacting with company's staff, how she approach the ML for his love (but at first the ML just seeing her as a weird girl). Really beautiful and memorable OST, so may funny moments that make you LOL, the acting is so good and the chemistry is on fire :D, the kiss scenes is even more hotter than Yang Yang & Dilraba You Are My Glory. My problem is to many family drama just like others said (which I skip most of them). Overall is a good watch .

Good drama with unpredictable twist

After I put it on and off I finally finished watching this one. I've watched until ep. 13 and put it on hold for months. One day I read that the FL (Yuan Bing Yan) have tax evasion scandal and it trigger me to resume watching and push through all the episodes in a few days.

When watching this drama I really hate the FL and SFL because of their behavior, the FL is naive and dumb while the SFL is rude, well... that is the typical Xianxia dramas most of FLs characters are just like that, the same problem as I hate FL character in Ashes of Love. Later I understand because the FL was born without her six senses. What I like is that the ML hidden identity and later it open layer by layers. This drama has lots of misunderstandings that you can't imagine that put the ML and SML in the very difficult positions. I like the unpredictable plot twist. The acting is good with all the casts but no so much with the FL, in my opinion she is not fit to play as God of War/Star Of Mosha (not badass enough to be honest). The OST is memorable and good but sometimes the insert in some scenes just not fit and the most annoying things is the amount of blood spitting/vomiting is too much and over done.

Over all is a good watch and I recommend it to Xianxia fans out there :)

Rare Gem Legal Drama

This this my second time watching Chinese Legal drama after Truth. This drama is so underrated seems so few people know about it, the cases are so interesting and the acting of all the cast are so good. Qiao Nuo (Janice Wu) ask by her twin sister Qiao Ya to took her place as an intern in a city court. Qiao Ya ask her to do so cause she has another task to do but she didn't tell Qiao Nou what was she is going to do and just disappear and Qiao Nou can't even contact her. In her role as intern she was facing with interesting cases, she is smart and takes the jobs well. The male leads is also smart and does the job very well in uphold justice. But I like the second male lead more played by Dai Xu because his acting is so phenomenal, he play a lawyer who will do anything just to win the case. Sound like a bad guy at first but later his has character development and doing his job right for the justice.

It has a little bit of romance because the ML like the FL, but after he know her true identity things became different. Second couple love story more interesting though.

Gaming drama that is not an e-sport

After the bus she rode on had an accident, a student Chun Yu (Sun Qian) and her unconscious best friend Qing You (Dai Ya Qi) mysteriously found themselves in a dangerous VR game world. Several other passengers also unknowingly enter the game, and they soon find out that they were all involved in the accident - except for substitute teacher Gao Xuan (Wei Zhe Ming), who claims he was just asleep. Having no other choice but to play the game, they eventually managed to complete the level and regain consciousness, but they logged back into the game the next night.

Facing terrible monsters and mind game puzzles, the players must learn to work together even though they are not sure they can trust each other. What made them even more frightened was when they realised that the person who died in the game was in a coma in real life. And then some other students got sucked into the game too! Those who enter the game will spend the night trying to survive and complete the level so they can enter the next level. Outside the game, they are also investigating who did this to them. As they begin to find clues from their investigation, the relationship of friendship and love between them is repeatedly tested by pressure, situations and the evil machinations of the mysterious people behind this game.

The characters of the two main leads are very interesting, they are very intelligent, quick to read the situation and know what to do to handle the matters. Very good acting from all the actors, even for small roles. Amid the tension, there is also a little romance between several characters and also comedy which makes the audience laugh and feel relieved from the suspense. Wei Zhe Ming & Sun Qian are versatile actors and they can play any character well. The production, setting, props and CGI are smooth and good, the audience can feel as if they have entered a level 19 game which is full of mysteries and puzzles. I think It would be better if it finishes in 24 episodes because after ep 15 I feel like they drag the plot for too long.
