With success of ABAY, I see surge in anti -Xu Kai content disguised as official cinema news on You Tube leveraging ABAY to put Xu Kai down. Sometimes, the content appears positive but underlying message are meant to create negative perceptions.
The enduring popularity of Exquisite Han Ting is still in the top character list, dropped to #8 while other characters that previously dominated have dropped further below Han Ting on the list, which really says something about Han Ting timeless elegance.
#5 is war of faith with wang yi bo#6 Always on the move (2024) with Bai Jingting
#5 at 60M views per episode is not Amidst a Snow Storm. I don't know how to read the characters but the characters are different. The translation said Storm Chaser. Amidst a Snow Storm has 40M in the list. Best Choice Ever has 40.5M. ABAY at 50.4M performed better.
The Double was picked up by both Netflix and Disney. I keep seeing posts of BCE having reruns and getting added elsewhere. I hope they can expand viewership for ABAY too. I saw a post that ABAY will be released to Taiwan in Sept.
Ep 31, The fight scene has a classic appeal for me due to its exquisite performance—it captivates me every time I rewatch. There is a rhythmic progression that captures the ebb and flow of emotions in the fight scene throughout the fight from the moment they stand on opposite side of the door in anticipation of each other to when JX stormed out. The gradual escalation—from soft tension to intense moments, followed by quieter interludes, to fits and then the blow up —creates a mesmerizing rhythm.
According to Maoyan data, ABAY is currently ranked #10 for 2024 in terms of average millions of views per episode: 80.65M, The Legend of Shen Li (3/18, 39) 74.51M, Joy of Life Season 2 (5/16, 36) 62.00M, Blossoms in Adversity (4/2, 40) 60.04M, The Hunter (2/21, 18) 60.00M, Storm Chaser? 57.43M, South to North or Traveling for the North? 56.84M, The Tale of Rose (6/8, 38) 51.17M, Lost You Forever Season 2 (7/8, 23) 50.51M, The Double (6/2, 40) 50.43M, As Beautiful As You (7/2, 40)
I get the feeling that HT felt the need to quickly take JX home to make it official to his grandfather/family that they are in a relationship together, and afterwards, he also initiated JX to quickly call her parents so they can tell them together about their relationship. This was about the time that he realized he may no longer be able to prevent the merger. Before they got out of the car to visit his family, HT said to JX that no matter what happens between them in the future, she must never regret now they have both met each other's families. She looks at him and says something like who is going to regret first, if I recall right. Why does HT think that by making their relationship official between their families will help the future conflict that he sensed is brewing?
I had no idea SHPH was so popular when it aired. The Tencent heat index peaked at 29,548 in just two or three days (11/14/22 to 11/17/22). It ranks #7 for Tencent annual list for 2022 that includes big hits like Dream of Splendor (Crystal Liu), Snow Sword Stride, and Who Rules the World.
I'm glad 2ml, fl relationship paused on a good note. In future they may reconnect again, if her relationship with…
Qin Shi is such a strong-willed character. I don't think anyone can snatch anything away from her. She chose to leave the 2ML because his mom won't accept her. In Yang Hua, Qin Shi finds solace, self-worth, warmth, protection, and unconditional love.
The whole atmosphere of that scene. The way he handled the tea and spoke business at the same time was graceful to watch. He was respectful and gave him one last chance, yet his message was firm and to the point, and when Zhu backed HT into a corner, HT executed him. Even though he knew the devastation to human lives, he is decisive and unwavering. JX being nearby and can overhear them makes the scene even more tantalizing. Then HT, in one moment was a ruthless killer, the next moment he gets up and spoke gently to JX to go have lunch. Has the feel of a Mafia scene. It's very well done.
ABAY'S business background story is sooo interesting and up today. Look, here's a news that Amazon wants to implement…
I like the business story very much, not just the AI industry which if you're going to be alive for next few decades, you will not be able to avoid AI, but the entrepreneurial challenges, internal and external politics, high power stakes in dynasty families, competitors who are out to destroy you, friends who are only out for benefits, risks of mixing love and business, and college friendships that continue into their career (which is very common among top students from elite colleges), and they're all at that age, they are looking for life partners, and there was also sense of family and being filial which I love seeing in Chinese dramas.
Also, Ji Xing is a social entrepreneur who is empathetic to others. Her mission is to advance technology to help those who need it the most, either can’t access it or can’t afford it.
Han Ting is a visionary technologist who wants to ultimately not just lead the way but allow the entire industry to advance faster.
More favorite scenes: Ep27 - The scene of HT meeting with Zhu Houyu at the teahouse over the acquisition is exquisitely crafted. Ep30 - The scene of ZD messing with JX’s mind and emotions is also masterfully executed. The acting in both scenes is superb, and the camerawork heightens your senses.
I don't think she did discover why. But this betrayal gave her a lesson about human's interest, and it showed…
Oh, I just got to Ep29. XWX told HT that Weiwei can't get a job anymore after Han Yuan discarded her. So, HT and XWX knows. Not sure if HT ever told JX about Weiwei. Seems HT knows everything that goes on.
