As someone who has a history of reading a lot of Western romance novels and has lived through numerous discussions…
The ML I think has already fallen in love with her. When they were in bed together, he stroked her hair, and stared at her, her words brought tears to his eyes. I think he's fallen for her long ago. When someone throws out the word romance, there are a million interpretations. To me, this drama is not a pure romance story. Romance is the subplot.

Person Xu Kai
Actually, Xu Kai has never really done those soft, overly polished modern romances where it’s all about the couple, healing vibes, and aesthetic commercial-like scenes. Even in his more romantic projects, there are always extra layers — big external plots, ensemble energy, professional stakes, or historical intrigue. I don’t see his romance dramas as typical romcoms at all. They always have more substance than pure romance. Falling Into Your Smile feels like a full ensemble/group drama thanks to the strong cast and fun character dynamics, while She and Her Perfect Husband is not a soft romcom, but a workplace/legal/female career drama with heavier themes. Even when Xu Kai’s character isn’t the centerpiece, his roles always end up having the greatest emotional impact.

Have you never heard her voice before?
Bai Lu first used her own voice in the modern drama Lucky’s First Love (2019), and she has used her natural voice in all of her modern dramas since. She began using her own voice in costume dramas starting with Story of Kunning Palace (2023) and has continued to do so in all subsequent costume dramas except Feud (2025).

I’m not against anyone writing reviews after actually watching the drama — everyone is entitled to their opinion.…
It works the same way as the ratings on MDL. Viewers rate the drama while it’s still airing, so the score you see during its run includes ratings submitted before the show has even finished. Users can rate individual episodes, but those episode ratings don’t affect the overall drama score unless they also submit a rating for the entire series. So when you see the score before the drama has completed, that score reflects ratings submitted before the drama has actually finished airing. If no user submitted a score until the drama has finished its run, then MDL cannot put a score.

To be fair she is not unstable, she is traumatized. They are not the same thing. Traumatized actions can have…
maybe you mean unpredictable?

Are the FL and ML dubbing themselves? I actually can't tell if that's Bai Lu's voice.
Have you never heard her voice before?

Person Xu Kai
I don’t think Xu Kai is unusual just because he does rom‑coms — his peers in idol dramas take on similar roles. What stands out is how he plays them; even in light rom‑coms, he gives his characters a more real, human feeling instead of the typical cookie‑cutter vibe. And recently, among his idol‑drama peers, he’s the only one who’s taken on a gritty criminal role like Chen Hui, a character who deserved the death penalty. That shows he’s willing to take risks and challenge himself.

Yeah, except that's not what we were discussing, was it?Whenever someone came to spew unnecessary hate on Xu Kai,…
You didn’t miss anything — it’s just the same old stuff that pops up here from time to time. If you’re going to stick around this page, you just kind of have to get used to it. There are definitely different Xu Kai crowds around here, but at the end of the day, there’s only one Xu Kai page. My original intent coming here was I thought I could learn more about Xu Kai from his fans, not doubt.

No kidding — this director has a whole lineup of major hits under her belt, from Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008) and Chinese Paladin (2009) to Scarlet Heart (2011), Sound of the Desert (2014), Journey of Flower (2015), Eternal Love (2017), and Love and Destiny (2019). She’s worked with top stars like Hu Ge and Liu Shishi. She’s absolutely a heavyweight. I think it was Scarlet Heart that propelled Liu ShiShi to stardom. This director collaborated many times with another heavy weight director, Lee Kwok Lap, who directed the 2005 Chinese Paladin that launched the careers of Hu Ge and Liu Yifei.

It's typical of a FL centric drama

I think some actors really need constant acting lessons and classes, like am watching this drama and one thing…
She has multiple personalities. Some think she has seven personalities. Not an easy character to play and to have to play it with subtlety. The only actor I'm not too keen on is 2ML, but maybe I"m just not into his character.

Who would’ve thought that such a vague synopsis was hiding a full‑on psychological deep dive into a traumatized character’s mind

This is one of those dramas that weed out the ones that enjoy fast paced dramas and slow burn.
but to get 30K heat, might need a bit of pace too, 28k 29k is already fantastic though

It's normal. They grew up together and were even engaged to each other.

I'm going to start watching other dramas by this screenwriter. With TFJ, I've watched three of her dramas: Love…
The screenwriter wrote three dramas with Bai Lu as the female lead: Arsenal Military Academy, Feud, and The First Jasmine.
Princess Agents, a massive hit, was her original creation (she later admitted to plagiarism in the novel and removed the copied content). She was credited on the drama, but she wasn’t the sole or main screenwriter.
Arsenal Military Academy is her first known screenwriting work as the main writer (the concept originated from producer Yu Zheng), and it was written before Love and Destiny, a huge hit. She wasn’t the only writer, but she was the lead one. For Feud and The First Jasmine, she is the main screenwriter but has an assistant.

I hope we get to see Ye Li show off her martial art skills and swordsmanship!
I think her months of intensive training for Unveil:Jadewind really benefit here as she filmed this afterwards. She got to put it to good use now that she's avoiding martial arts dramas.

I actually LIKE PRINCE LI ❣️ He has an amazing screen presence as an actor. I feel so sorry for what happened…
he plays a weak man. Just look at the scene of him when he was like 14 yrs old? and how scared he was. Sure, he's a kid and bad people surprise attack on his carriage, but the way he looked, they want to depict him as a person who has always had a weak internal core regardless of his circumstances in life. Hence, he turned out the way he is. But I find his acting too flat because I don't' feel anything after his scenes. It's more like OK I know I'm supposed to feel this way based on his acting, rather than totally forget he's an actor, and just feel his character. I can't seem to get inside this character at all.

I enjoy those kinds of silent scenes. It plays on your senses. Some find it boring, but those scenes tend to linger in your mind, especially when the actors are good with micro expressions. I think it's a product of good directing, editing, and acting to make it come through.
