maybe I'm weird, but I love the scene where the father buys her and her brother ice cream or popsicles. I don't know why but there is something so real and sentimental about that scene, the way they sat down on the curb and ate it and the dialogue between them. The pleasure of simple things in life.

I can't believe the cold-blooded Yao Zhiming still using the fl like that to get her boyfriend to lower the price, even after his grandmother told him that MCH has been very kind to her all these years while he was abroad. In the fourth episode, I can see YZM brain spinning thinking about how honest and filial MCH is, things he can't comprehend yet.

Grandmother said "I married Mr. Mai midway through life but his son and I don't get along." so that makes her MCH's step-grandmother, but MCH and YZM are not blood related and have never met each other until now. The grandmother is YZM biological grandmother through his mother who passed away. The grandmother spoke very highly of MCH because she's smart and kind and is the only family to visit her regularly past ten years while YZM has been away. I wonder why MCH's dad is basically estranged with his stepmom or YZM's grandmother.
Her boyfriend is a simpleton, but he is sweet and adorable and has good intentions. I feel sorry for him because he said his parents basically neglected him. The acting is superb.
The daughter is so perfect, what every parent dream of. The parents are so wonderful, what every child dreams of. No amount of money can buy you such a loving family.
The mother is not one dimensional. She is a very loving mother too, but she has a lot of flaws.
