On the contrary, in my opinion, my perspective is that gamer are the toughest critics, and they enjoyed the production quality. Most of the 13M watchers cannot be gamers. In fact, SAF6 game had so many issues, it is the least played of the series.

This drama is about a group of six. It is not a romance drama. There is resonance between Jinzaho and Qi. They have to show how this resonance can become more powerful because it is in fact a tool. There were only two real kissing scenes in the whole drama between the main leads and the second leads. They all had romantic feelings for each other but nothing more than that because that was not the focus of this drama. Exquisite Bian's romantic feelings were delicately done. The feelings each couple had for each other is not just your usual idol romance, it is intricately woven into the the story's themes (Bian feelings might be the one exception which was not in the game but nevertheless, it was beautifully done in the drama, Bian's personality was bland in the game, unlike Jinzhao but Bian really shined in the drama). The relationships, experiences, and feelings of the character are heart-warming and heart-wrenching to watch.

I'm sure in One and Only the characters also had romantic feelings too? They cannot show the real love between the leads in One and Only because that is the storyline; but in SAF6, they have to show the relationship is getting stronger because their resonance is a major plot of the story.

This is a closed loop of space and time story or time travel story and it's not those reverse harem as some is used to. This story is a bit complicated and not your usual "In the beginning... ". It's a fascinating storytelling. Myself, I find it so interesting and entertaining and so beautifully made. It's refreshing to watch something different. The acting in this drama is superb! The number of 5's in Douban rating for SAF6 is 14.4%. This is not bad at all considering the lack of promotion and Xu Kai is not popular in China. For point of reference, more popular actors Amidst a Snow Storm 16.9% , AJTL 16.7%. SOKP 15.9%.

in my opinion, SAF6 is an classic inspirational drama of duty, honor, loyalty, love, friendship, moral conscience, humanity, esp. courage and bravery, not "gloom and doom"

Looking at the Kuyun daily broadcast data, the schedule turned off viewership big time. Every few days the schedule stopped for a few days, the viewership declined because there were no new episodes and probably accelerated the decline faster and sooner and possibly hurt ratings esp. this drama format saved the best for the last. But now all the episodes are aired so viewer don't have to break away for days According to the Kunyun broadcast, viewership has slowed to rate of 200K new views per episode. If it can average 40K new views a day to the end of the year, maybe it can reach almost 1B total views; if not, it will most likely end at 700M to 800M total views. In 2023, a drama over 1B total views would make it to the top ten Chinese drama. I'm hopeful SAF6 can reach total 1B views in 2024.

This will be a treat because in real life Xu Kai is very respectful of family and he's a funny guy.
It will be overflowing with sweetness he and his 86-year-old grandmother in the drama.
In an interview, Xu Kai said if there is a spider, he will yell for his mom to come kill it for him.
His honesty is so refreshing.

This drama took 3 months to shoot and completed at the end of Sep. It normally takes a year before audience can see it.

SHPH was a family drama too, wasn't it? He had a lot of interactions with his mom and dad in that drama that were so cute and funny.

Yang Zi said at the Tencent awards that Xu Kai is a super funny guy. Who wouldn't enjoy being around someone like that, relaxed and know how to have fun, instead of uptight people.

The humble Xu Kai must be so thrilled to work with such great talents as Yang Zi and Wu.

Premier Zhou Enlai invited her to perform Liu Hulan in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. In this teaser, the way Yang Zi says "Come" sounds exactly like Cantonese, like the tone and manner of speaking in a Cantonese family when teasing, or else Mandarin sounds that way too.. there are a lot of Mandarin words that sound exactly Cantonese. But this family is in Shanghai. Is there a connection to Southern China in this drama family? Xu Kai is from Southern China.

It will continue to attract more viewers for a long time. When it first aired, the first article I saw was "I'm not seeing any discussions on this drama". Over on Viki, the rate of increase has been constant and steady since it aired, it is possible for it to grow to over 40,000 by end of 2024. I stopped tracking it long ago since it was so solid. I just noticed the Viki rating has gone up from 9.5 to 9.6 (I hate to mention it since there are so many Xu Kai saboteurs).
Xu Kai dramas are never overrated! if anything, they are underrated.

It is understandable since S&F is not a true romance drama but a classic storytelling of tragedy and heroism than usual idol dramas boy meets girl and falls in love. SAF6 is a complicated and unique Xianxia story of human heroes instead of immortals and Gods. Episode 35, Esther emotional noodle scene has been praised by so many esp. gaming community, the hardest critics.
