I hope the drama makes the dynamics between the main leads the crux of the story, and her family is secondary and serves as the backdrop. I hope best choice ever was that she broke away from her mother and decided to take her godmother's offer to work with the ml that put her on the path of maturity, growth, independence, finding true love, and finally understanding and accepting of her quirky family. From the trailer, it sounds like the ml will find change too after spending time with her family. The sweet and wise grandmother plays cupid bringing them together. It sounds like a feel-good happy ending drama but along the way, I'm sure there will be challenges and emotions.

I thought the fl is the god daughter and the ml is the biological grandson and the grandmother is the one who introduces them by giving her the opportunity to work with her grandson in hotel management

I searched and found that the booting ceremony was held on Feb 2, 2023 and the wrapped was on June 9, 2023. So an April / May 2024 release is not unreasonable, but given the promotions, I tend to think it will air sometime in April.

The characters in this drama are so interesting. There are so many different personality traits.
Most of the characters are flawed people, each with their own strengths and weakness.

Anyone can find something to complain about if they want to, just like AvenueX who watches dramas to find something to nitpick on unless it's a drama she likes.

On Viki, SEL is surprisingly still growing in viewership and ratings. The ratings have increased to 9.1 with 6,774 user ratings, a much better sample of its entertainment value than here on MDL. I'm sure the same will happen for SAF6 on Viki. Over time, the ratings will get over 9.0 too, unlike here on MDL, but SAF6 has bigger hate hurdle to overcome.
Both dramas, the romance is not focus of the drama but is a journey of self-discovery and camaraderie.

Those are Xu Kai's dream roles because he grew up watching a ton of detective/police HK movies and because action roles are what he loves best. He has a lot of chemistry with men too. I don't know why he says he will wait until after he turns 30 to pivot, but I trust he has his own timing.

I'm not sure why yet, but your comparison to SHPH seems to hit a note with me.

Xu Kai Alaso birthday drone says it all about how much he is loved not as a pretty face but also how much they admire his work and him as a person. His adoring sweet respectful thoughtful fans is another reason I like catching up on Xu Kai. Reading so many Xu Kai fan comments, Xu Kai attracts the nicest people to him. His fans even know when XK has a cold! XK always tells his fans go home early, don’t accompany me, dress warm, spend time with your family, save your money, work hard. He collects his fan letters and handles them with care. He buys drinks and treats his fans and workers on the set. Jing Tian purposely tell so people know on the set Xu Kai is caring person like he cares about the extras on the the set by giving special attention to them , the little things, nice people will notice. I first noticed his handsome angelic looks but it was his inside beauty that kept my interest in keeping up with XK, and he is believable because there is a sort of innocence and vulnerability about him.

Most likely ABAY will air early April and Best Choice Ever in the Fall. Just a guess based on approx 1 yr from finishing shooting. They all have busy schedules so I doubt they can synchronize Hi6 with airing dates. Once it airs the actors will do livestreams and interviews.

Xu Kai said in an earlier interview from end of 2023 or earlier this year that he wants to use his own voice in 2024, but I didn’t know if he meant his two modern dramas he already shot or new ones he will shoot in 2024. But that is his goal in 2024. The more he can use his voice he will get better and better. It’s a learned skill but he already has amazing vocals. But he has to get rid of his southern accents and that is what actors do. In his birthday video by his staff, he puts his career second to his family but has no plans for love or marriage. I get the feeling his career is very important to him. He loves what he does and wants to really make something of it not just content to
be idol actor. He once said he hope people remember him by the characters he has played. His iconic role in Yanxi Palace was not all luck. It was his own efforts that propelled him to overnight fame. He always had the talent and he just needed that opportunity and the drive. There is no success without failures so whatever happens for Xu Kai I wish him all the best for success and look forward to his artistic work. Of all the actors he had the least (zero) background for entertainment career. It’s amazing what he has done in just 5 years.

I will ignore everything I read and trust my own instincts because as far as I’m concern, Xu Kai is the most underrated actor in China. I’ve watched almost all his dramas and he is masterful at portraying characters. He has a unique sense of artistic style about him combined with natural beauty and expressiveness and natural acting that allows him to create different characters. That’s what makes him such an interesting watch instead of seeing the same actor in every drama.

Happy belated birthday to Xu Kai, a perfect gentleman, always kind and thoughtful to those around you. Your talents have only just begun. May it continue to blossom and may all your wishes come true.

Xu Kai is a creative artist. He has style. Good taste. Flair. He’s a natural. It’s a gift he has. He cannot be cloned. He instinctively knows what appeals.

Her voice is cute for the roles she plays like fairy and a three year old creature. It fits her cuteness too. It’s obvious she has the ability to change her voice when she needs to. There are Asian girls who have high pitch voices and talks cute like her. It’s really not unusual. In the modern dramas, girls , even older ones, some talk in girlish tones to guys, but does anyone complain about that childish behavior? Not when the actors are super popular. In SAF6, her voice is perfectly suited for her role.

If not for fans like you who just want to share why you are a fan, I really want to get off MDL. I have no objections to criticisms of Xu Kai or his dramas when people explain why and then are okay if I respond back to give my opinion. Some people come here to incite others then get mad when others respond back. Actually, it would be interesting why people don’t like him and some are valid but some are obviously hate. MDL seems like fan pages for fans to express themselves so I’ve learned to be sensitive to other drama pages. I like reading why fans like other actors, what they see that I don’t see, and what some see that I also see. I don’t see hate on other MDL drama pages that I see for Xu Kai dramas. WOL was my first experience on MDL and SAF6 my second. I can recognize patterns of hate now. It’s predictable there are only so many methods. There seems to be a group of haters out there following Xu Kai dramas and want to hate on Xu Kai and incite Xu Kai fans. I’m sure MDL administration who decides the final rating have haters too. That’s why WOL is slightly underrated and SAF6 is grossly underrated on MDL.

they stand high pitched voices in Japan women? It’s really hating a culture. Every culture, women have own way of acting and speaking.

Good thing translation does not pick up on a culture’s mannerisms and way of speaking otherwise there be more for haters.

MDL decided the rating within days of airing this drama and meticulously aligned the data little by little. This drama was vulnerable target. At least douban is honest and can see ridiculous amount of 1.

Haters can take any drama and nit pick anything. It becomes a game. Xu Kai dramas on MDL comments have unusual negativity not seen with any other drama.
