His expressions are indeed memorable. When I recall any of his dramas, I can picture his expressions in various scenes. It's like the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words", I can substitute it for "Xu Kai expressions are worth a thousand words". But it's not just his expressions but his body language too.
I feel all the actors did well in this drama. No one overacted. There was a sense of harmony. Everyone's acting was similar, subtle and nuanced, to convey complicated emotions.

There will be angst but not life and death situations, I don't think.

That kid who fell down at the ending was Shifang. He was carrying the same backpack and Bao. The fish pendants. They kept looking back at each other. Ming Xiu after she bumped into Jinzaho for some reason still had recollection of the group on the boat together.
Jinzhao giving that smile when the storyteller said the real hero was Shifang.

Throughout the drama, Qi and Jinzaho said to each other they wanted to be together forever.
It really did come true. They will be together again.

The scene where Jinzhao is hanging on to dear life while Qi goes to buy candied haws is exquisite. Simple but powerful. It's the exact location where they will meet again in the final scene.

This kind of self-sacrifice reminds me of A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.

this is one drama you really don't want spoilers. You must watch with listening ears and keen eye even the very last moment, the clues are there. You cannot skip a single scene otherwise, the ending won't be as meaningful.

What an amazing cast. The children actors were really good too. I especially like the littel girl who played Xiao Yuan. Her feisty personality is true to the game.

the 7.8 is false reading, ignore it. I really do think the verified rating has an impact on the overall score. they take everything into account in their algorithm; otherwise, they would not track it.
