Douban discussion:
"This drama is quite good-looking, predict how many points Douban can score?"
"I saw that someone in Xiaohongshu calculated a score of 7.8, and I agree with this score."
"If the score is normal and maintain this quality until the ending, I also think that this score can be made, and if the ending can be sublimated, it can be looked at a little higher."
"Yes, if the last few episodes can be a little more exciting, it is not impossible to score 8 points."
"7 points"
"In the end, it must be 6.8 points Xu Kai's dramas always add one or two points to the normal score."
"If the score is normal and maintains this quality until the end, I also think that this score can be had, and if the ending can be sublimated, it can be looked at a little higher."
"After watching the latest episodes, I think he deserves more than 8 points in my heart."
"A score of 8 or more is normal."
"After watching the latest episodes, I think he deserves more than 8 points in my heart."
"It is also worth more than 😭 8 points in my heart."
"There are too many db sunspots, and many 1 and 2🌟 don't watch the drama at all."
"There are too many black fans of the male protagonist, you can go to score more high scores to hedge and automatically deduct 2 points for traffic broadcasts."
"It seems that there is a lot of malice."
"After watching the latest episodes, I think he deserves more than 8 points in my heart.
Hopefully maintain this quality until the finale."

7.8 🤦🏻More weird people on MDL downrating many dramas like it is their only jobs.Ren Jialun's dramas are…
MDL puts up a rating on the day it airs while another drama is on its second day and no rating yet. Does MDL do this selectively?

probably waiting for it to finish then they will update final heat index? or maybe they’re waiting to be paid?
I think they usually show it while it's airing.

Title Eight Hundred Spoiler
@wholssilmoy why is this happening this drama is so good and the actors are all good but XuKai really it is one…
I don't know but I averaged the rolling comments from time to time, early on it was steady at 7.4 so I was hoping for 7, now the snapshot is 6.8. If you noticed even MDL has dropped to 8.0 but I don't' expect more than 7.8 from MDL. It doesn't take many one stars to drop a rating when the user rating count is not high. In the meantime, another drama that aired has almost all perfect scores. I noticed some dramas having perfect scores even through the entire 3 weeks and beyond, but Douban will moderate it but still I have to believe they don't know how to eliminate all the fake perfect scores, so I feel those dramas are probably slightly higher than what it really is. I've never seen that happen to a Xu kai drama. It just seems so unfair. I hope the sample is not indicative and it can still reach 7

Douban has more and more haters and passersby giving the drama a one star. If the sample is indication, it will be hard to reach 7.

I think it’s the contrast. Kai usually plays upstanding, heroic, often powerful and intelligent characters.…
I liked his performance in Autumn Fairy Tale. One of the most memorable moments for me was when he and the FL (Zhao Lusi) were standing on the bridge, having a very low‑key conversation about their sad lives. Such a simple scene touched me deeply.

Title Eight Hundred Spoiler
This is a dark psychological thriller wrapped in crime suspense, the kind with a relentless pursuer — like Fatal Attraction, where the woman wouldn’t let him go until his wife finally killed her. Chen Hui eventually kills Huo Kai Ming. That makes Chen Hui’s psychological descent feel even heavier, because he’s the one who ends up with blood on his hands, actually twice, the first time he used Huo Kai Ming to kill Lu Yuan, this time he kills Huo Kai Ming himself, and that's only ep. 12 which would be the climax. What else can happen with 8 ep remaining?

Title Eight Hundred Spoiler
At the end of Ep 7 the unusually cool, calm and soft-spoken Chen Hui had a mental breakdown. His unraveling has started. For someone like him, smart and cunning always steps ahead of others and in control, he had a perfect plan, but suddenly he feels cornered, desperate, and out of control, like a noose around his neck is getting tighter. He mutters how useless he is how can he protect anyone (I think he's referring to songge).

The haunting beauty of "So Close, Yet So Far" 🥀I’ve only watched up to episode 14 of Eight Hundred…
Ah, the word melancholy comes to mind every time I see Chen Hui’s face.
Xu Kai was right — the sad dramas are the ones you never forget.
I read that this story isn’t really about good versus evil, but about how easily evil can spread between people. The perpetrator can become the victim, and the victim can become the perpetrator, their wrongs intertwined and constantly affecting one another in this 800-meter radius area small town there is no escaping

so it seems that Songge made a serious mistake without informing Chen Hui and it has compromised his perfect schemes; but when she told him, he's so gentle with her, he didn't get mad at her, just try to figure out more schemes

This story is so serious and intense, it’s the kind that makes you bite your fingernails. It's nerve wracking because I care about the character. A part of me wants him to get caught sooner than later to stop this madness.
The director sure knows how to create suspense.
Chen Hui is trying to pull off the perfect crime — one so flawless that no one will ever trace it back to him.
Each episode ending is masterful cliff hanger.
The madness I think must be like Arthur Hitchcock atmosphere, and I'm only on ep 7.
Its's really a psychological thriller wrapped in a crime suspense.
At the beg of ep 7, Xu Kai's acting in car was a memorable almost iconic moment in his character's state of mind.
The madness in the car even makes the madman go crazy

ist it good to watchI. I loved the tvelve letters. is it similar
the word I hear that fits this drama the best is 'gritty.'

"The drama is a dark suspense/crime thriller (not a light romance), and it's praised (or warned) for being emotionally heavy and unforgettable."

In this pitiful town, everyone’s been hardened by something. And when you walk among hard people, life stops being easy.

In the oversaturated plot era of dramas focusing on the chivalry of the main leads, 800 meters really brought…
Tencent X Theatre's motto is "one drama, one unique style" — focusing on high-quality, short, and innovative storytelling rather staying inside suspense + crime + mystery box. It's much more than that. The "X" means "anything is possible" as long as the drama feels high-quality, short, and different from normal shows. And I think this style actually fits the kind of storytelling and acting Xu Kai was looking for.
