it's not openly sexual but for me if you use your imagination it's homoerotic [especially from Lu Zheng's side] so much more interesting when things are not so obvious I think
my UNcensored conclusion about the final relationship between Li Wu and Lu Zheng [as Shu Tang sails conveniently into the distance] is that the jealous Lu Zheng finally got ........his man❤️🌈
Final view yes this was very enjoyable action drama if you do not try to work out intricacies of plot politics and s on and just appreciate the action and characters maybe there was some very deep coordinated plan to bring together all the pieces of the puzzle in the finale.............if so it eluded this viewer the political plot supposedly behind everything had no resolution at all like the emperor hidden behind the veil it vanished into thin air I liked most of the characters very much even with their defects [except maybe the real Li Dongfang] and this kept me watching though if the resolution of their complex relationships in the final few episodes followed a carefully worked out plan again it rather eluded me how they overcame so many negative disjunctions to find themselves where they were [though I do understand why Li Wu deliberately alienated Lu Zheng over the "killing two fathers" matter and his hope or expectation Lu Zheng would keep to the trust of their "one horse ridden by both" oath good therefore but for me this started very promisingly but the script spun so many threads that it gradually unravelled and I could only enjoy it by following the flow and using imagination to fill iin the gaps this goes especially for the final resolution of the relations between the main characters
preliminary view this is quite a good action mystery chinese drama and the chemistry between the MLs is good until around episode 8 with the romantic entanglement with Shu becoming too intrusive ep 12 and finally the history relating these two I understand the plot and historical background I do not find any more confusing than any other of these Chinese historical dramas、 for me there is no need to follow every detail just go along the flow
seems worthwhile、 very emotional chris chiu plays well the part of the one who can't admit his feelings and projects the guilt, self hate and self blame on to the one he can't admit he loves the photos in the end credits are delightful
This drama is pleasant enough to pass an hour or so。 it has the virtue of being simple and to the point and does not drag or become overly melodramatic、 but it has the defects of its virtues: underdeveloped characters and storyline。 something I have noticed typical of Taiwan BL’ LGBTQ+ dramas is the close ups of toned and ripped bodies to delight the senses and no doubt ensure the audience keeps watching、 though for me this is less important than good script and acting。the 6 rating seems rather harsh given it must be judged for what it is I think。🩷🌈
"my heart feels like a marshmallow......." -tte : an amusing mixture truly lovely dorama and interesting mix of romance and legal investigation the romantic scenes were done beautifully and the plants were unexpected extra stars ⭐️ maybe from certain hints there is even the possibility of a sequel?🌈❤️
this is a really very good chinese school drama and in my opinion deserves a better rating it includes many good stories in the short episodes and is realistic and the spirit of camaraderie among the boys comes over very well and there is great chemistry between the two male leads of different backgrounds。 the script and production are very tightly constructed including a lot in the short episodes without any feeling of cutting the corners。Chinese censors of course make sure we do not a wrong impression but you can use your imagination 🩷
